Personally, I used to love them! I didn't at first because their records are over-produced. However, I saw them live on telly and they definitely weren't miming and all the instruments were plugged in..so I was a convert from that point.
Even bought their album which was also pretty good. I think that ex of mine from years ago sold it on the sly but I may have it somewhere at Mum's..hope so, anyway.
Below is "Two Tribes" which caused a bit of a stir at the time (as with all their videos) and I'm sure it was probably banned at some stage, like "Relax" was. This just made people buy even more singles so that was a failed ploy.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video. It makes a nice change watching it all the way through!

LOVE relax, got it on my pc. Thanks for sharing this one.
I felt the same about Rolling Stones when they came out. Thought their music sounded like it was recorded in a basement or garage. Then I saw the movie made not long ago and its like Im discovering them for the first time. Could it be because our taste in music is changing?
Thanks for sharing, LUV it!!

It's strange because back then, all those years ago, I never got into the whole Frankie Goes To Hollywood thing. It got to the point that if I heard "Relax" on the radio I would change stations. But these days if I hear one of those old songs it brings back great memories and I kinda enjoy listening to them now. Although saying that I wouldn't be that bothered to actually own an album, just like the ocassional trip down memory lane when I hear one of there songs which is the same way I feel about Wham, lol.

I know exactly what you mean. Even though unemployment was high in the early 80s I actually had a JOB (started off as a YTS) and was there over 6 years. Yes, the pay was cr*p but money went a lot further then..especially on nights out. You could go out as a rocker or a "trendy" as I called them but either way, a good time was had by all. Nowadays, a group of rockers (unless they are in groups, as in bikers) would be beaten up in Carlisle (and in Blackpool too, where I'm from) of course. Punks are resigned to frequent a couple of pubs in Carlisle but if they went elsewhere they would be beaten up as well.
I hate the social scene now, if that's what you call it..more like anti-social scene! If you don't have Henley written on your shirt you're a nobody!
CHAVS!
