How do you figure out the value of stamps?

i have a bagful from other countries that i started collecting in the early 90s i totally forgot about. since im spring cleaning and trying to sell all the stuff i have been waiting to list and putting off forever i figured id add that in to the stuff but since people collect stamps i wondered if any of them are worth anything and how to find out.. any ideas?
