Countless copies of the Bible have been distributed worldwide, thus, no other book can defeat the best selling category of this God-authored Book. By reading and living by it we can only prove that it is indeed beneficial for our lives. Try to have one and begin to read and study it.

And Avatar is the best seller in the category of movies - does that mean we should believe it is real too? The bible was not authored by god, and it is absolutely not beneficial. It is a terrible, evil plague on this world. The god of your bible encourages killing, raping, and torturing innocent men, women, children, and even the future children, of those who do not worship him. You would not base your medical care on the beliefs of first century men and women - why base your life on them?

Are you sure with that accusations? Can you point out a text in the Bible that says our God is encouraging us to "rape" those who do not worship Him?

Sure can :) 2 Kings 2:23-24 - http://bit.ly/s54p9 - some kids call a religious man a baldhead, so god sends a bear to tear them apart (original Hebrew is baqa, which means to tear apart, not maul) Numbers 31:7-18 - http://bit.ly/bi6qyL - Moses and the Israelites, as commanded by the lord, invade and slaughter the men of Midian. The women and girls are taken as plunder, and Moses tells his army to kill the non virgins, but to keep the virgin girls for their own use. Deuteronomy 13:6-11 - http://bit.ly/bsjKkJ - god makes it clear that nonbelievers should be killed, and shown no mercy. Judges 19:22-29 - http://bit.ly/c82c7G - a mob demands to rape a godly master's guest, instead the master offers his virgin daughter and concubine. The mob ends up raping the concubine all night, and when the master sees her in the morning, he decides to cut her up and ship her out around Israel. It's ok though, as long as the men who worship god are okay. Of course, there are plenty more verses just like this in the bible, but I don't feel like copying them all out. Read the bible yourself, you'll apparently be surprised by what you find.

" It is a terrible, evil plague on this world." What utter drivel. How many times have we heard atheist raise the accusation that Christianity has a negative effect on society but this is by no means true and a clear counter-factual can be found in the Welsh revival of the early 20th century In the early 20th century Wales experienced a revival so strong that public houses were almost empty. Men and women who used to waste their money getting drunk were saving it, giving it to help their churches, buying clothes and food for their families. And not only drunkenness, but stealing and other offences grew less and less, so that often a magistrate came to court, and found there were no cases for him. Church services were held in packed churches lasting well into the night. Men whose language had been filthy before, learnt to talk purely. It is related that not only did the colliers put in a better day's work, but also that the pit ponies were so used to being cursed and sworn at, that they just couldn't understand orders being given in kind, clean words, so that the pit owners were forced to buy new ponies! Yet, still the work output increased. The dark tunnels underground in the mines echoed with the sounds of prayer and hymns, instead of oaths and nasty jokes and gossip. People who had been careless about paying their bills, or paying back money they had borrowed, paid up all they owed. People who had fallen out became friends again. It started when on February 14th, in New Quay, Cardiganshire, young Florrie Evans stood to her feet and publicly confessed "I love the Lord Jesus with all my heart" a mighty move of the Spirit of God broke out in that Church. Hungry for the Spirit, many young people gathered in after-church meetings, and God began baptising initially, mainly young girls and women in their teens and early twenties, with the Holy Spirit. They began singing and praying spontaneously, there was shouting and rejoicing, even dancing in the meetings, and many of the girls were prophesying. By the end of the first week over 60 responded. By the end of the second week Evan had already started on a whirl-wind tour of the South Wales valleys with his team of 5 girl singers and within a year or so 100,000 converts were said to be added to the Welsh Church. This was unquestionably a Pentecostal visitation. Evan Roberts exercised spiritual gifts, including the word of knowledge, when things about someone in the congregation would be revealed, often leading to conversion. all the best urban
