It's Grandparent's day on September 12. In the US it is celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day while in the United Kingdom it is celebrated on the first Sunday of October. Even if some of them have already left us, mine included, they shared with us some of life's important lessons. They showered us with love and affection and oh so many presents. I call my grandmother-lola or nanay & my grandfather- lolo or papa. What i remember when i was a child, when i ask for money from my grandma to buy candies, she usually get pennies from a secret pocket under her long skirt. To my fellow mylotters, how do you call your grandparents and what is your fondest memory of them?

i am happy that there is a day for grandparents. they do deserve to have a day that we all give tribute to their hardwork and generosity. if not for them, literally, we won't be here because our parents won't be here in the first place. i remember my grandparents as the storytellers. they used to open up a whole new world for me with their outrageous stories. and i love them for that.
