What do you do when something is wrong with your laptop?

When I bought my laptop they said that only the parts have the warranty but the window is not covered. So when something is wrong with your laptop like when it hang its not covered with the warranty. It happened to me before. I upgraded my antivirus coz the one installed in my laptop was a trial version only. Then when Im starting my computer it hangs when entering the window. I didn't know whats wrong. The problem is the window so its not covered with warranty. When something like this happened to you, what do you do? Or what Should i do? Im residing in Philippines. I know In US you have tech support to help you. But in our country I'm not sure. We have tech support here if he have problem with internet connection. We have ISP tech support but with laptop im not sure.

If it hangs when starting Windows, something probably is taking the CPU all the way to 100%. There is a good chance that there is a virus/Trojan in your computer, although it is not always the case, but it fits the symptom. You can try to enter Safe Mode, and run the anti virus again. Usually with a dencent software it should have no problem taking out the virus. Also when in Safe Mode, trying to defragment the hard drive. It won't fix the problem by itself, but it will help speed up the process. In addition do a clean up for you C drive, taking out as much junk file as possible. If all above proves no result, search more online. There will be many similar cases from other users. Hope it will help your laptop back on its feets.

Well, if i'm in that situtation, i will defintiely be sending back to the place where i bought my laptop. LEt's say i have bought a acer latptop, i will be bringing it to acer workshop, regardless of what problem is there. haha =D All u need to tell them is that u cant boot up your laptop, and u dunno what's the problem.. haha =D After which repairs will be carried out by them. If u dun say what's the actual problem, then they wil never know.. haha

Hi angelbelle578, sorry to know thay you have facing certain computer problems. I don't have knowledge to solve computer or internet problem surfing net. I always seek assistance from technician in the nearby computer shop. I learn from them to solve the hang problem by switching off the device and get it restarted again if there is nothing we can apply to it totally. Since I know the techicians do cope the problem of hanging with this way I try to solve the hanging problem in such way as well. I hate to take trouble and waste time to send my laptop to the shop Why not I take out the baterry and then turn off the power myself. The laptop needs some time to carry on renovation sometimes. 1st: scan my computer if there are any viruses/spywares installed in my computer 2nd: search the internet for any related problems 3rd: update my drivers 4th: if all fails reformat my computer

What brand of laptop or operating are you using? It's hard to determine if your having a hardware or a software issue without running some test or hardware diagnostic test on the computer?
