Would you have discovered feces as fertilizer by yourself?

How do you think people discovered crap as fertilizers for their crops?
I think they discovered it by accident. As the herds of animals who takes a dump all day in the farm overwhelm the farm itself smelling like crap all the time, they decided to move it somewhere else and wherever they dump the pile of crap, something grew on it probably a fruit bearing plant which had better crop yield than regular soil and sacrificial ceremonies to the gods. And then they harvested better crops with that and then they kept on doing it ever since. That's how i see it.
What are YOUR thoughts?

Dude most of the inventions/ideas came from one word "accident" examples :
gravity was found by accident thanks to apple tree , magnetism was found by accident,electricity was found by accident,x-rays,radio waves,radioactivity (Marie curie),radio waves, Archimedes principle etc.
I can go all day long but I think you got the message.

Duh? that is obvious. But I don't care about that I'm more interested on how you will come up with a reasoning for this accidental discovery. Use your imagination.
I didn't ask this because I want to know but to see how people like you think.

Well I think in animals area when people started doing farming ,then they found that crop is really good and when they did in some other place the crop was not that much fertile...even in our case in our backyard earlier that was the route for animals to move then that got covered and when we try to grow something the crop was really good ,,,but after few years that land become the normal land and now that is not so fertile .
