Girl Fighting- It's just a high school thing... no big deal

That's at least one high school's excuse when she was interviewed earlier this week. She said that everyone likes to watch a fight. Again, two high school girls were taped fighting over a silly high school incident- a "girl thing." Many students circled around and cheered as two teenager girls fought and punched each other continuously in the face. They were cheered on by their peers and a mother who was later arrested for condoning such a thing. Afterwards, the fight was put on the internet for everyone to watch and the teenage girls were welcomed back into school. Everyone just goes on with their lives as if it's nothing. After all, girls fighting is just a high school thing, right? I'm not going to pretend that we did not have fights at my school. In fact, one year a girl lost her unborn child because she was in a fight and was kicked in the stomach. There is going to be fighting in high school, but I'm not sure how I feel about the idea that everyone should act so blase about it. The school and other students who witnessed and enjoyed the fight just shrug it off as if its a normal thing.

Those girls should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe one day they will grow up and aspire to not act like barbarians. Until then, all you can do is personally try and do the right thing. The administration of your school should be doing a better job of implemening punishment. We had an on school police officer and it wasn't just "school" punishment that was dished our for fighting, it was also legal.

I hope you're right and these girl will grow up. I just wonder if girls nowadays are acting like "barbarians" more or are we're just seeing more of these instances pop up because of the internet.
