Senate Majority leader Harry Reid is in the middle of a tough reelection battle but he has received some reinforcement. Current Nevada state minority leader Bill Raggio and former first lady Dema Guinn both Republicans have endorsed Harry Reid over Republican challenger Sharron Angle. Raggio did have so tough word for Reid saying that he needs to represent the views of his Nevada constituency in the future rather than a liberal agenda. As to why he did not endorse Angle he said, “What is difficult to overlook is [Angle’s] record of being totally ineffective as a four-term assemblywoman, her inability or unwillingness to work with others, even within her own party, and her extreme positions on issues such as Medicare, social security, education, veterans affairs and many others.” http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1010/43328.html

Thank God can you imagine that poor thing (Angle) going to the Senate. It is sad that we have folks running for office that simply won't go study the issue's.

Now before we start celebrating Angle still has a good chance of winning. Hopefully these two endorsements will help to defeat Angle but currently it is too close for comfort right now.

I wonder if it has more to do with her comments to the third party candidate. She really seemed like she was trashing the Republicans. I'm not saying that Harry is great but, I would vote for him over Angle any day.

Maybe it does but it is safe to say Angle sure has not done herself any favors.

I'd say Raggio's words speak volumes. He would certainly know if she'd been "totally ineffective" as an assemblywoman and I certainly agree with the rest of what he said based on what I've seen of Angle. My biggest problems with Angle are how whenever she's challenged about one of her controversial positions or statements instead of either defending the position, explaining that she'd possibly changed her mind, misspoke or some other reasonable human explanation she invariably denies that she ever said it! Then when the interviewer plays that recording back for her she looks like an idiot! I guess it's no wonder she spends more time running from the press than talking to them. I'm one Democrat who had been totally resigned to the fact that Reid was going to lose in November and I'd actually accepted it. I don't hate him or think he's "evil" as some on the right do but I feel he's kind of a wimp and really isn't all that effective as a majority leader. I know those who supposedly know what goes on behind the scenes claim he is an effective leader off-camera but, let's face it, he's totally "charismatically challenged". That shouldn't decided elections but we both know in today's climate it is a factor. If Sarah Palin were either a man or an older, overweight and/or not so stylish woman and everything were the same as it is, she'd be a laughing stock. Annie

As to Reid effectiveness or the lack there of Mitch and his 41 votes acted as he was the leader of the Senate.
