This is somewhat for those kids at heart... We, the generation of the 80s. Oh man, I would love those cartoons of the 80s for the following reasons 1.) They are more artistic and full of art 2.) They are fruit of labor of hours and hours of actual work 3.) They are more concentrated in human emotions 4.) They give values and more actions and fight seen 5.) They are more entertaining to watch Imagine that those are the days where coming from school the next thing you do is to watch a cartoon... Whooah... these cartoons are worth watching then...And seeing all over again compared to nowadays cartoons are more exciting and fun to watch with... (In no particular preference or order) 1.) Transformers (Generations 1 and 2) 2.) He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (and ok...also She-Rah) 3.) Mask (remember those alternating mode vehicles? man... those are amazing) 4.) Visionaries (Knights of the Magical light) 5.) Inhumanoids 6.) ThunderCats 7.) Voltron (Especially the lion team) 8.) DinoSaucers 9.) GhostBusters (Oh..I miss Egon...) 10.) Centurions (those soldiers with machines add-on beaming from their station) 11.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (way more better than today's incarnation) 12.) AstroBoy! (Again, more better before than today's incarnation) Oh well.. there are lots and lots of lists. I think these are only a handful from the spectacular lists of cartoons that 80's can brag about. Maybe if you read this and you are at the same age as mine.. Ah... your memory is flashing back to those old days of happy cartoons. Nowadays, they are trying to pump life to some of these franchises, need to say they failed me in some expectations. I will not mention what remakes are not impressive. But overall, when they revive certain franchise of cartoon.. Ah.. it gives me back my old good memories about them... How about you? Do you like those 80's cartoon? Do you also have your favorites back then? Do you like seeing them again on a remake... (Imagine ThuderCats on Live Movie... Thunder..Thunder...ThunderCats...HOOOOOO) I think it will be good. What 80's cartoon do you like to be on live action screen? If you happen don't belong to the 80's generation, I think you better see some of the franchises I have mentioned here... They are worth watching. youtube anyone?

I like most of those childrens cartoons you put in your list above, but i think transformers and he-man would definitely be at the top of my last as i still like transformers now. My son also like watching it which is great.

Yeah... Those cartoons were the mark of those era. Its nice to see that they are brought into studio franchise for remakes. Imagine transformers... Wow, cant believe then that we can actually see the Autobots as if they were real. It rock! Me too, my kids love transformers. My husband is a definite transformer fan, even have collections of books and toys... almost filling up space in our house. Good thing our kids love it at their young age... They knew these transformers. Hope they bring in He-Man, Orco, Battle Cat.. and others on the big screen. Fans like us crave those to be on silver-screen. Thanks for dropping by to share your thoughts on this discussion.

Well your list is fairly good and accurate for what I watched, and wow you mentioned Visionaries :). I agree with most of what you were saying and many of the attempts to bring these cartoons back have failed. My disagreement though is that I never saw them as all being more concentrated in human emotions. I always felt they were over dramatic. Visionaries, Thundercats, and Silverhawks were mine. And I have to say I just watched the premiere of the new Thundercats series and I like it a lot more because it is more serious than the original was. As far as live action, yes Thundercats needs to be live action. I think more than any cartoon it really lends itself to that ability of transitioning into the real world appearance.

I am older than you probably and the cartoons I love best are Tom and Jerry, Little Lulu and other cartoons we first read in magazines or saw when we went to the movies as TV in those ancient days was only black and white
