Satellite Radio: Sirius or XM?   email this discussion to a friend?

Being a music lover, I have recently subscribed to Sirius Satellite Radio. The selection process to subscribe to Sirius or XM was not easy and required a little bit of research before I wanted to invest my money into this service.

There are pros and cons to both. The prices are pretty much the same. If XM was at least 25% less than Sirius, I would have gone with XM. The main things I considered when I deciding were receiver models, prices, and of course channel selections. Having listened to XM satellite radio all day at work, I went with Sirius for variety.

We all know the main reason why most people choose Sirius over XM. Yes, Howard Stern is only on Sirius. As far as music selection, I was somewhat disappointed since everyone had spoken so highly of Sirius. Having listened to XM, all the songs were played in a loop and I would hear the same song at least 3 times in an 8 hour day. I thought it would be different with Sirius, but no, it was all the same. I actually like the music on XM better, but now I am stuck with what I have.

I have XM radio. When I was first going to decide what compay to go with it was hard to decide. Since they both cost the same cost was not a deciding factor. I actually chose XM for a pretty silly reason. I chose it because it had more channels at the time I signed up. Sirius does have some neater looking radio choices but the one I have from XM is fine.

My final choice for Sirius was silly as well. I liked the receiver because of all the features. Which, by the way, I have not even begun to start using. I haven't even preset the 30 channels I am allowed. I only have a select few stations I listen to regularly.
