I was begged to leave my previous job to go back to my old job I only went because they sounded like they were not lying about the money and saying the money was good, blah,blah,blah. First of all I really did not want to leave where I was but I did. I have been at this place 2 months and I am sick with the Flu I stayed home yesterday and I called in again this morning, I left a message and tried to go back to sleep my boss called more than 6 times!! I finally answered it and told him I am sick I don't want to get other people sick and I a have no money to go to the doctor believe me if I did I would! He said well 2 days out of 5 in a smart a... way and said I can't guarantee you will have a job tomorrow so call me this evening and I will let you know, does that not sound like a threat to you? Any real company would not act so childish!!! Plus if you only knew the people that worked there you would say W.T.F.?

Sound like my former boss when I had my first child. I was allowed 6 weeks maternity leave. I said what if I have a c-section the minimum leave for that is 8 weeks. Then I got one of those same attitudes... "I can't gurantee your job will be here then when you return" So I came back thankfully w/o having a c-sect & still met my replacement and of course if the company is under 50 employees the EEOC won't help.
I'm sorry you are so sick and yet being treated like a criminal. I could see if you were out and about yucking it up or someone ran into you at the bar or whatever... but home on the couch?!?!
Dirty shame how you are being treated, but sadly it happens and with the unemployment rate being so high then can find a replacement for anyone at the drop of a hat.

Yes it is sad, but I really don't care because I know the people that I used to work for that he is talking about replacing me and I think it is funny because they won't last! They are drunks!!!! Among other things as well if you know what I mean and that job is not as easy as the one we had before and before they closed the doors at the other place of business! One of my good friends went to an interview with him and I tell her how that lied and begged me to leave my job I was at and then treated like crap and lied to she said I asked him in the interview "HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE YOU CLOSE THESE DOORS?" And in his mind he thinks she is going to work there but NO WAY! She said NO WAY, she did not need the stress or working with all the old people we worked with which we were lied to again said they would not be there and they all are and keep coming!The new people he hired like 3 of them left after 1 hour!!! So if he fires me I could care less!!!!

Clearly your employer won't win any award for best employer that's for sure. Sounds like your boss is quite the "winner". Like you said you have no idea how long it'll last til he runs this one into the ground and pops up somewhere else with or without you.

OMG! What an ar*eh*le! How dare he say that to you! Surely an employer is not allowed to fire someone because he or she is sick! I tell you, I know we all need income I order to live but if this ba**ar*d fires you it will not be the worst thing that has ever happened to you! When I was in the U.K. I worked for a guy who threatened to fire me because I took a couple of hours off to go to the optometrist because I had lost a contact lens. I kept my appointment anyway and he didn’t let me go because he knew he would not be allowed to because there are regulations which protect employees and being let go because of sickness has got to be a big no no!
