Is it true that the act of chewing could possibly make you hungry more quickly?

Like chewing on gum or just playing with your jaw, I heard it was because when you move your jaw, signals are sent to your brain that tells it to work your digestive system. In turn, you might get hungry quicker. Do you know the facts about this???

I don't know. I'll give it a whirl and let you know Monday or so. And if I find it works, that'll be the last time I do it, cause I want to eat less==not more!

I have actually heard the opposite. This is why if you are hungry it can curb your appetite to chew on a piece of gum. The signal goes to the brain that says, "I'm working on it" and the hunger is at least diminished somewhat... but hey I am no expert!

No I don't think so, cuz I always chew gum in class and I that helps me not to fall asleep and not think about food or get hungry.(and yeah i don't get caught chewing gum lol) Chewing gum actually helps me not to starve until lunch period, cuz sometimes I don't get to eat breakfast.
