Hi, Hard disk and Hard drive are two different things. They both are packaged as a unit to perform writing reading of the data stored on the Hard disk. Hard disk drive is the one that controls the positions the reading and writing on the disk. They both are packaged as a single unit and called as HDD hard disk drive. In general we refer as hard disk or hard drive as one and the same because both are are present. And in normal we are interested in the capacity of the disk, Like if it is 120gbd or 240gb or 360gb.
