hi friends.
so far gambhir hasn't been exceptional or extremely poor with his captaincy but hey when was the last time we worried about captaincy innovations as long as the team is winning.
but what bothered me is this.
india has 4 main bowlers with yuvi, pathan and raina to finish the 5th bowler spot.
but the thing is
nehra bowled only 18 overs ,munaf bowled only 16 overs, sree bowled only 14.2 overs.
ashwin manages to finish 20 overs and yuvi 19 overs.
ok you give your best spinner to bowl all ten overs when the guy is good at powerplays.
giving yuvi to finish as many over as possible, understandable.
but not at the cost of your main bowlers?
shouldn't your main bowlers get to finish their quota of ten overs before you think of part-timers?

Ya you mentioned a good point.
but shows the all round capability of the team.
this will not matter till the team wins matches, and we will call it good captaincy too.
but i would blame gambir in this because we have seen that sree give away many runs in his final spell, so there is no problem in giving him a less over.
but the main thing is gauti lead the team to two fantastic wins.

I think this has something to do with the game plan of the team.Kiwis are struggling against spinners since Bangladesh tour so may be this was the reason why Gambhir is giving more overs to spinners. However i do agree that he is overdoing it .In first match he stuck with Raina and Pathan and allowed NZ to reach closer to Indian score. In next match also he gave 4-5 overs extra to Pathan and Raina.
