Don't you just hate it when people assume something? Well its ok when their assumptions are based on accurate facts and are actually hypothetically sound. But assumptions based on nothing but their bias is just so distressing. Why can't they wait to know you or read a little more before judging something?

I believe it is part of their personality to be this way. As some people get stuck on a tad of the entire situation and simply will not let go.

Yeah sometimes it really is a personality problem, most people that act this way have inferiority complex or some other flaw they are trying to hide by being arrogant.

people like that are really annoying! There were a lot of people in my college days that thought I was something of a hoe, because different men wait for me to take me home...what they didn't know is that those are my cousins and my close friend! They didn't ask me, they just whispered behind my back...good thing my friend told them the truth, but why can't they ask first before they conclude huh?

Maybe they are just jealous because you are pretty and have many guys looking out for you? Just an assumption (but a good one right?). But yeah, that what I can't figure out as well, why can't they just ask you directly? What are they so afraid of? Whether they get an answer or not would easily clear things up in a very short time to boot. I'm glad you were able to handle it well and your friend stood up for you as well
