I was electrocuted at work over 10 years ago due to a faulty piece of equipment. My employer was aware this was faulty but still permitted me to use it. As a result I was in intensive care unit for approx 2 days. I have since been told by my doctor several years later that my heart has been damaged by the electric current travelling through my body and has aged it by 10years. I feel that my life expctancy has been shortened due to this accident.

Your employer is definitely at fault for the damage cause to your heart. He shouldn't have allowed you to use the equipment in the first place. It's very unfortunate that you heart has aged 10 years because of the incident. I think you can actually request the employer to compensate your lost. Since the doctor has proven that the electric current that went through your body caused such effect to your heart, you can even go into court to make claims which your employer would have no choice but to compensate you.

I'm so sorry to hear about that happening to you. I hope that what the doctor said is not true. Sometimes, a doctor will tell you something and you will prove to be the exception. The only thing I could suggest is to keep that heart as healthy as you can by not smoking, exercising, and eating healthy. Other than that, I don't know what to say except I hope things work out with you.
