Horror movie with no body count

When I was a kid I remember watching a horror movie where no one died, as in no one, but it is still a good movie and its very scary but all characters are alive in the end, its basically a Ghost movie. Here is my problem, I cant remember the title of that movie and i cant remember the actors neither, Most likely its a Hollywood movie because the characters are Caucasians and they speak English, its around the 80's I think. i was very young when I watch it. I really want to remember what the heck is this movie but I was so like 4 to 6 when i watched it in a VHS tape my sister rented.
