This is not gender discrimination, I just want to know, why many girls finish their course more than boys? Is this because girls are more keen in having a degree and boys are not degree oriented? It is said that a non degree boy could land on a job while a girl must have a degree before she could be accepted to a job? Do you have other reasons why girls excel more in studies than boys?

I went to a Spanish language course for adults. There were all ladies except for two men. The ladies enjoy learning and the men prefer to work and not do any further study. In my home country the students can leave school at age 16 years old. Then they can go to the sixth form or go to a further education college. Girls are likely to leave school with good exam passes and do well at their two year course getting on to their degree. A girl would be likely to have patience, be hard working and determined to do her best. A boy would be likely to be impatient, be a bit lazy liking his e box more than his revision and only do give the minimum amount of effort. Girls tend to be degree orientated and boys work orientated. It is unfair the two genders are not treated equally.

Greetings! For me the reason why girls excel more than boys in school its because girls are more focused. Boys can also excel but they don't take it seriously. When I was in elementary, my girl classmates are just afraid to be punished by our teacher that's why we always do our home works and seat works while boys don't care about it. But for me its fair. No matter what your gender is, you excel as long as you take things seriously. :)

According to a video I watched, it is caused by feminism. Boys are getting an education that favors to girls rather than one that targets to their interests. Boys tend to have a technological stance to learning, and are not very good at talking about feeling.

I think it's because girls are more focused.. and they really want to pass in all subjects. Some boys I know aren't so serious in their school, I'm not really sure why, they just want t play games all day.. Most girls are disciplined and goal-oriented.

I think that because boys don,t usually focus on their studies because any of them just want to play sports, video games and enjoy the school life. Instead of the girls that their hobby is just to study. And some boys think that they are becoming gay if they study too much like a girl.

I think this mostly depends on dedication, not the gender. In my course, Biological Sciences, there is a balance between the girls and boys that excel (mainly, 5 girls and 5 boys that have excellent grades), with the other girls actually being in more trouble with their grades than the guys. In my boyfriend's course, Political Science, he and the other guys are the ones that excel while the girls are just normal, with a higher percentage of those that fail are in the girls. In the case of this other course, the International Studies courses, it's the girls that are dominating. In the Computer Science course, it's again a balance between the genders. In the Hotel and Restaurant Management course, to my surprise, it's the guys that excel. I'd say it really depends on the generation or the batch of students.
