Is there any way other than prayer to come close to god...?

We are all children of God and He is full of love and mercy.All of us want to be in His good looks as we always seek favours from Him.No one wants to incur His displeasure.So we want to be close to Him and we try to please Him and praise Him through our prayers.Therefore prayer seems to the only channel through which we can go closer to Him and also please Him.I wonder whether there is any way other than prayer to come closer to God.What do you say..

I was also under similar impression that prayer is the only way to be closer to God.But after reading other responses to this discussion I understand and realise that there are other ways also to be closer to God.Living a pious life and helping the needy and doing relisious services in church or temple besides being good and doing good to others are aslo other ways to come closer and be with God.Are you convinced..?

Liveing our lives in such a way that others can see God in us is pleasing to God and we are living close to Him.
When we have prayer time every day, and read our bible every day we are drawing close to Him. If we follow His commandments, we are living close to Him. If we acknowledge Him in everything we do He will guide us in all our ways... that is living close to God.
Prayer is only one way to come closer to God. We must devote our whole life to Him and we will be close to Him.

Yes what you say is correct that prayer is one of the ways to approach God.Other ways like living pious life or following His commandements is also to be closer to Him.When we do everything in His name without fear or favour we are almost with Him only.To be good and doing good deed is the best way to be closer to God...

Praying is a style on how we renew our personal relationship to God. God is always and constantly close to us on every beats of our heart. Positive thoughts and actions with a greatest humility will always have God's presence mentally, emotionally and soulfully.

God is always is in us and with us in our actions and deeds and prayer is a way to renew our relationship with God.If we closely observes we can perceive Him within us.By prayer and worship we we refresh our emotional connection with God.Prayer appears to be one fo the ways to be close to God..

Not all people are children of God. We are all created by God but not all are children of God. You can read John 1:12 in the Bible and you will understand why I said that. I agree that God is full of love and mercy, but there is also a time of judgment just like what He had done during the time of Noah - the flood or deluge. A judgment time can also be like the time of Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah. It can also be the time of Miriam when she spoke against Moses. We draw nigh to God not only through prayer but when we walk in His ways and follow His commandments. Have a wonderful day and blessings to you.

It is not only through prayer we come close to God but also in obeying His commandments truelly and faithfully.I have been under the impression that all of us are children of God as He is our creator.I have not read Bible deeply.But I feel we connect ourselves with God with our prayers.But we can also be close to Him in another ways like rendering service and healping the needy and also doing some religious service in churches and temples....

I think the other way I can close to God is when everything I will do is I will offer to the LOrd. In such a way I will commit myself doing good or the right thing but I'm not saying I'm a holy, I know I commit sins everyday but what I'm trying to say Is that I want to offer everything to the LOrd.

When we do our deeds in the name of God without fear or favour we are close to Him.Prayer is also a way to come closer to Him and be with Him.The secret appears to be when we do deeds in the name of God we will not do bad deeds and hurt or harm others.Being good and doing good is the best way to be in association with God...God bless you..

We can also come closer to God by helping other people in our own little way. We can also join those associations that evangelizes the word of God. We can also be a lay minister in our church. Most of all, by being good to one another.

Yes you are right."Service to humanity is service to God".By helping others and the needy we can come close to God.We can also render some religious service and it is also another way to be close to Him.In essence by being good and behaving we are really very near and dear to God..God bless you..
