Is beauty and aging all in the mind ?

I read magazines faithfully, probably a little obsessively but I am always seeing ways to make yourself look younger such as; using pinkish lipstick and eyeshadow, a blue tinted eyeliner instead of black, and not to mention all the different hair styles to make you look younger. So of course with my issues with physically appearing older, I have tried it all. But, it wasn't until I had to borrow my daughters eyeliner which was black that it dawned on me..screw all those suggestions. Sure I could see where some of it might make you appear younger but honestly I really think it is how feel about your appearance in what age you appear to be.
For example, I have now gone back to using black eyeliner, burgundy lipsticks and pass shoulder length hair like when I was in my teens, and guess what...I feel better about the way I look ( when I decide to make myself look really presentable lol ) than when I was using all the little tricks that I had read about.
So is it really a mind issue when it comes to physically aging or do we need to take all the little tricks and tips to heart to disguise our age ?

I think, it really depends on how we feel about the trick that you are trying on. If the trick looks nice in you and makes you feel younger, then stick to it. But if it's not, then do the former thing that you are used to and just be confident with it.
Our physical appearance may grow old, but the way we think young will always stay.

I think it all depends on one's attitude towards aging.
I'm with you. I like to look presentable, but don't really care about looking younger. Although, sometimes, I don't even worry about how presentable I look (depends on what I'm doing).
I feel that it's taken me a long time and I've earned every wrinkle and will not feel ashamed about it. I am healthy. I exercise. I hike. I spend a lot of time doing outdoor activities. I feel good. That's more important to me than my physical appearance or a high-maintenance beauty regime.
Besides, I'm too old to let it worry me.
