I have an officemate who already is a friend of mine. i would say she is basically clueless... her work contract is to expire come feb 25 and i think she only wants to be a flight steward but that is a vague plan as she has not applied yet and at her age of 25 she barely stand a chance with others who are much younger and taller...
Our boss is actually considering in extending her contract and even give her a regular position and she is doing well so far as training assistant... she says she wants another job, because she feels she can't stand being an assistant anymore...
i've given her adviced, even talked to her direct boss to help her.. and we who knows the status have asked her what she really wants and then she is saying now that she has no plans yet!! and she is not sure if she will apply for banks... so there is the confusion.. she graduated a nurse but has not passed to practice the profession... so its all jumbled up...
if you were in my position would you advice her to stay or resign and have no work... ? her qualifications really is not great, to be honest with having no permanent job previously this is the best she could build at this time...
Thank you!

I think as her friend you should advise her to work for some more time in your office and weigh if she really likes the job or not.
But meanwhile, she could go ahead with applying to some. At least, she could have a fallback - her present job, in case she gets rejected on her applications.

She is truly confused. Is she single and independent? Which I think she is not. People who are independent have goals and knows what they want. She is confused and seems not worried because she knows there are people whom she can depend on. She seems not to worry with the result of the expiration of her contract and yes not worrying what is next.
