I am wondering whether you believe in animal year that is related to one's luck, good or bad. In our family we have three people with the same animal--the year of the rabbit. Our culture is that we need to wear red underwear all the year round to avoid bad luck and get good luck. My wife bought me two pairs. But at around eight last night, while I was riding on my bike at a crossroad, I was hit by someone on an e-bike. I fell off to the ground and could not stand up immediately. The guy ignored me without getting off to ask if I was ok, but drove all the way as if nothing had happened. I asked my colleague Joe to pull me up. I got hurt in the right leg and palm, but it is ok now. I don't feel much pain now. This afternoon when I was at another crossroad, a truck almost hit my bike while I was waiting for the green traffic light. Is it a myth or a fact when it comes to animal year? What belief is yours about the animal year?

Hello william Well here in Romania we aren't very familiar with the animals attributed to years - this has only in the recent years become more known. What i can tell you about this year of the rabbit is that it is sort of unlucky for me, my family and my close ones, at least so far - as i had a surgical intervention at one toe, my girlfriend is just going into surgery in the next 24 hours, and in the next couple of months both my mother (laser operation for one eye) and my grandmother (12 cm cyst to be removed).

It is a myth I think. You should have known that based on your experience. I used to believe that "red" as a good luck, but many times that I had no luck with it. I don't even know the explanation what makes red as luck? And they say that black is bad luck.

Hi there William! When you said that the red color drives evil spirits away, made me think more and wonder. The color of fire is Red, right? It also connotes evil. Well, just a thought. If they believe in such, am not pointing at you though. Then, isn't this a contradicting belief?

I am sorry to hear that. Lately the traffic situation just gets worse and worse. Even if there is a green light, but the cars can still go across and I never understand this kind of stupid rule. So just to be much more careful next time. You know, our father is not Li Gang:) As to your question, actually I was born in the year of Rabbit but I have never believed such kind of myth. In my family, we don't believe anything like that. Actually we don't even have a "xiang" to pray for our luck. I love China

Hello youless. You are right that we don't have Li Gang as our father. We have to be very careful and pay more attention to security while riding and walking on the street. Glad to know that you are a younger rabbit though we are of the same animal. My brother-in-law, namely my wife's first younger brother as well as my father-in-law are both born in the rabbit year, including me, a middle-aged rabbit. Take care, youless, and I wish you good luck in this animal year of ours.

wow. that is so interesting. but i do think that the belief is similar to believing entirely in the zodiac. ive found none of this true. as yesterday, my sign said be careful of appliances as you are about to have an accident with one. and nothing even came close to that prediction i do think some colors are lucky at times for some people, but maybe because of their assurance things will be good. that goes along with how our minds can control our destiny. where can i find out about these animal colors thing? i enjoy the games and fun of it even if its just for entertainment.

I believe that it is some kind of superstition as well as similarity to zodiac. Take care, bunnybon.

hello, I empathize with the small accident you've met on the road. I don't wear red,and i don't have red underwear. I love black dress, and most of the time i wear black clothes, but thanks GOD i don't have any bad experience. I don't believed in colors as bad or good. But if you believed so...then,maybe you have to follow your belief, there's no harm wearing red underwear anyway.(girls looks so sexy with red undies hmmm) Have a good day

Personally I would consider this a myth as I have never heard this one before. But then again I think a lot of times they can say a lot of things like this just to try and get more people to consider buying more Red underwear etc. as well. I know that many of these I would consider to be superstions until they are backed with facts.

Initially it could be superstitious, but now it can be also turned into a kind of business activity, I guess. This kind of belief is prevailing here in our place. Take care, friend.

Dear friend, This is something new to me on underwear. But I had heard that there are people who carry a handkerchief with the lucky colour that suits them. I feel some of things are not be taken away, as there are lots of wonder in this world. May be these colours would be communicating with the nature. The natural way of simple assumptions with colours like red to stop, yellow to slow down, green to go. I feel colours do have some implications and reactions, may be it differs in each individual. I hope as there are many wonder in each minute part of this earth may a colour could give many reactions or actions.

I dont believe in anything like that. I dont even know how you could get buy with just two pair of red underwear lol. They will get worn out fast. I would hate wearing the same color underwear every single day. I love panties they are my obsession I would be very upset to have to wear just one color for a whole year instead of wearing all my other sexy panties.

I also bought another two pairs by myself so that I can have enough for a change. lol. Yes, I agree that it makes you feel better to have a different color for a change sometimes. Take care, shaggin.

Hi. williamjisir. I am more concerned about you being safe and okay. These last two incidents have been very unfortunate for you. I have never heard of wearing red during the animal year. I think that you should just be careful. It seems to be like you are having more bad luck than good luck during the animal year.

These two days, it did seem so, from last night to this afternoon--February 20th and 21st. So I will be more careful while I ride my bike out in the street. Thank you for your concern, cream. I am getting better now. Take care.

Hi Williamjisir, actually the culture of praying to Tai Sui has practically disappeared from mainland China. However, in other parts of the world, the Chinese are praying to Tai Sui to avoid the curse of Ben Ming Nian. For year 2011, there are four zodiac year animals clash with Tai Sui. The Rabbit, the Horse, the Rat and the Chicken. My friend belongs to the Rat Zodiac year. Just before the Chinese New Year, she was hit by the trolley in a major supermarket chain. We are not talking about one or two trolley, but the train of trolley pushed by three employees. I think you can find out how to pray to Tai Sui to ward off a whole year of bad luck, otherwise many accidents, big or small, will happen.

I agree that it is only a belief. It doesn't really mean anything. A better policy is for us to be always careful and stay safe. Take care, babyEj.
