I encourage my daughters to attend writing/journalism workshop every summer. I think she has a good potential because she managed to get a medal and certificates for various awards.

This is cool that your daughter has managed to get Certificates and medals for her writings. I know sometimes when a child likes to Write if they are not praised and told how good they are doing with it they can become discouraged and give up wanting to Write for sure. I know when I was in High School a lot of people enjoyed my writings so it has encouraged me to keep writing until the one day I become a published author in print as well.

i believe so, my daughter is very fond of writing, at 6 she has very good penmanship. i introduced her to pens and crayons when she was still around 1 and a half years old and learned right away to write her name even tho she does not know how to read! hgaha till now her notebooks would be full of writings of some sort i do not really care what she has been writing as long as she has interest in it i let her. She is also fond of making sketches and drawings

That is a good way of encouraging your daughter. My youngest daughter who is in Grade 2 loves to write short stories, comic books and sometimes composes songs.
