Does anybody celebrate Mardi Gras? What do you do?

Today is officially Mardi Gra, or Fat Tuesday. We usually have a big meal with lots of dessert on "Fat Tuesday" in preparation of Lent. I have always wanted to have a Mardi Gras party, but have not yet gotten up the nerve. Maybe when my kids are older! Before my children were born, my husband and I took a trip to Italy and visited Venice during Carnivale, which is quite an elaborate (and weeks long) celebration. Much more civilized than Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but more expensive, too! What about you? Any fun plans today?
