I believe some of you may already have heard that a 7.2 magnitude earthquake had hit Tachilek, Myanmar. The quake that hit the northeastern part of Myanmar was so strong that tremors could be felt in Vietnam, Thailand and Yunnan, China. So far, the damages were extensive but inconclusive as the epic quake site is in the rural areas. The state radio announced that 244 houses, 14 Buddhist monasteries and nine government buildings were damaged. Roads, bridges, hospitals and other buildings have also been affected by the seismic activity. I hope that the aftershocks that follow will not worsen the current situation. It seems this year 2011 has started with many quakes. Japan quakes is really shocking us when we are watching news about New Zealand quakes. Things are not settled yet in Japan, Myanmar quakes happened. Even what happened in Middle East is something I could not believe what I hear and see with my eyes. Things are happening too fast in political, geographical, society .... We really need to bring this matter in our prayer and hope for world peace.

Hi Iriene, I am really hoping that this will be the last of the earthquakes here. It is evident that the quakes nowadays are bringing about tsunamis which are really bringing about more destruction. So, I am praying for less disaster than world peace for the moment here. If you know what I mean.

lilaclady, Have you heard of Burma? FYI, Myanmar is formerly known as Burma which is located North of Thailand. The quake is really strong and shocks have been experienced all the way down to Thailand, Vietnam and China as well. I am just concern and hope that the quakes will stop here. There are really too many that is happening and I am sure we are all concern if recovery could ever take place.
