At some point in our working life, people reach a point of "burnout," when the routine, the paperwork, even the stress of dealing with office politics become overwhelming that we go home feeling absolutely empty, devoid of energy and motivation. Remember, a job that makes your life miserable is not worth it, no matter what, if the job stress and burnout seem to be leading to actual physical and emotional distress, perhaps it's well worth it to walk out the door.

routine really makes us bored, but with proper planning of meeting schedules, time management and aspiring for promotions, rewards, and increase, you will not feel exhausted but inspired and happy. Vacation will help instead of quiting job because today it is so hard to look for a job. Eat out and enjoy during week ends to relieve stress.

when you do the same things every single day, you will eventually lose your enthusiasm for your work. No matter how hardworking and driven you are, "Boredom will eat away at your persistence and resolve". So before taking your job, consider the variety of tasks you will be doing. Better yet, figure out how can make your position "grow" by taking on different responsibilities. It is often said that life is what you make it, and there is truth in this when it comes to dealing with stressful events. The way we respond to life's ups and downs depends very much on personality and experience, but everyone can learn to respond more successfully to challenging and difficult circumstances.

Put in mind that as it gets harder, the more it is challenging. Taking more responsibilities must be taken positively so that it will lighten up the load.Besides if given more,it means only that you are trusted and can be relied on to handle complicated tasks therefore you are being observed by the management.

You are great at these, yes I do to when I was working before I am overworked but underpaid I could not just take it anymore so I quit! It was good for me then, a needle was taken out from daily routine in life.

When feeling the "burnout" it is best to take a days or few days holiday for a complete rest. If this isn't possible I think cycling home from work would make a refreshing feeling. All the stress could fall off the bike and as the journey on two wheels progresses. When going into work in that situation I would think it is a challenging time of the year of is it horrible there every day. In a teaching post notice has to be given: half a term or a term. These days many people know that jobs are hard to find. So it would be worth finding another job before walking out.

That is good maximax8, you find ways to overcome the burnout, you diverted yourself to more productive activity. Don't just sit around feeling miserable.

As I have always told people, find a job that you love because if you do not at some point you will get tired of it. And when you do get burnt out, it would be so hard to go to work each day without having to think negative of it. For me, though you are tired of it look at things positively because negativity will not do you any good. You will put more stress on yourself if you keep thinking that you are burnt out with the job you have. Keep your head high and be thankful that you have a job that pays you.

You even make a list of the items that you dislike doing at work, do not include those you're indifferent to - just include the ones that are truly dreadful to you. Spend a week or two doing only tasks you enjoy. Seriously, just let the other stuff build up for a while. Set a one-time schedule for the things you don't like doing. Tend to these once a day. Hate paperworks? Do all needed paperwork in one batch once a week. Bugged by the slackers in your "workplace?" Hang a "do not disturb" sign outside your cubicle most of the time. Most likely, you have to do some of the tasks you don't enjoy, so compress them.

That is one of the main reasons why I quit my job years ago. My work become so stressful that when I get home, I end up so grumpy. paperworks, deadlines, demanding boss, overtime and etc...I've had it, I finally decided to quit eventhough my family's future is at stake. We may be struggling a little bit right now but I feel so relieved. Atleast I can hold of my time. Maybe with some determination and faith, we can make it through...:)

Well, it is a difficult question. Sometimes, it is not in the hands of an individual to avoid it. I believe that it is upto the society as a whole, the corporate world especially to see that they do not over-burden their employees, with increased workload without equivalent increase in time for rest, exercise and family time.
As for individuals, a good diet and exercise could counter this thing.

If you literally feel you have too many tasks to keep up with, talk to your employer/supervisor and suggest that too many tasks are keeping you from providing excellent work on your core responsibilities. Before you go in, identify some of the tasks that could potentially be farmed out to co-corkers.

work is important as it is essential part of our lives to use our skills, talent and the education we got, and of which we are compensated. A source of income for ourselves to provide the basic necessities of life to our family.. it is quite gratifying and more so satisfying if what we are doing {work) is worth the amount of time and effort we consume on it... i agree with you, if you're not happy with your work, better quit as it would only adversely affect you as a person..

Yes we need our job in order to sustain our family need or to save for our future. sometimes quitting the job is not the only remedy for this problem, instead, Give yourself a break, take a vacation as soon as possible. Catch up on things you've been putting off because you have been burnt out. Hurry fill-up your leave form and bring it to your boss for approval, of course, it is your benefit to take a leave. Happy vacation my friend!

Yes, I am feeling that now and I'm hoping to fine a good replacement for income that I am earning here. But dealing with "burnout" is easy now that I found an outlet to release it, by social networking sites like mylot which I could get earnings and at the same time, I could pour out what's in my heart and mind.

Right now i am feeling a little burnout with my job. You are correct, sometimes we got to caught up with the same routine over and over again and the stress level we are facing is already alarming. what i try to do is to live each day at a time at the office. To try to enjoy myself when i am not at work so that i would be refreshed when i go back to work. To always do deep breathing and say that this job pays the bills and this is what i can do best. And mostly to pray to God to give me strength to push thru and give me a sign to still continue this job.

That is right, in that way you rest your mind and body for a while, just like a battery need to be recharged once it was drained. You have the positive attitude toward any pressure caused by volume of works. You can handle what ever problem arises regarding your job. Keep up the good works my friend!

You should really think about it. I just quit because of exactly what you are saying. I could not handle it anymore, and it just wasn't worth it. I am actually less stressed with no income than I was with the income I was making. It was just not worth it to me. But I would suggest finding something else before! But my sister went through a time at work when she felt that way and stayed through it and now she is really happy and so glad she stayed, so it could turn out either way!
