April 4 was my son's bday but we did not celebrate since money is tight and we had work the whole day. We just brought him a cake and ice cream, pasta and chicken. It was simple yet it was fun. My son did not even mind that there were no balloons or plenty of gifts!
The next day, me and huby both felt lazy and took a leave of absence that day from work ( lol i know it is bad, but we both deserve it i guess since we rarely absent ourselves from work!) Out of nowhere we decided to bring the kids to the museum and they had loads of educational fun! and for me as well..i have not been there since second grade! hahaha it was fun and then we took them to Mcdo, it was my idea since i love their Mcfloat...the watermelon one. anyways we took them to play the arcade and it was loads of fun...we have not had this fun after a very long time.

Of course, I would take a dayoff as well for my son's birthday 
What's more important than the family
It sounds like you guys had a happy day, it is always nice to get to spend time with the family and do bonding with the child.
I hate when that happens, I like to copyfirst before I post just in case.

Oh i did take your advice on copying it first before i post...since yesterday i have been having problems here in mylot.

Hello Jazel,
Mylot tends to be slow too with so many users being here in this site. it depends on the time where the people are much active in the internet. well, it's a good thing that the two of you decided to take a day off so that you could actually get a chance to rest and take a break from it all. it's not bad trying to rest and have a happy to time to get rid of that stress that you're having.1 person likes this

Yes i have been experiencing problems here in mylot yesterday especially in the afternoon. i cannot post comments and it is too slow 
And yes i am so glad we took that time off and spent it together with the kids. It is priceless and we are looking for more time like that.

We definitely need these days with our children. Work will be there tomorrow. When we become grandparents we realize that these days were to seldom and way to far apart. It seemed we always worked opposite shifts and it was good for our child not to have a sitter, but as a family, we missed a lot.

I did realized that because at the end of the day, it is them that matters. I did realize that the kids are the ones that matter no matter what.

Oh jaze_juan this sounds wonderful.
Sometimes as parents we are forced to work so much and with so many bills at times we cannot do as much as we like for the kids. But this that you did was priceless!
To see the kids smiles and have fun cannot replace any monetary gift. I am glad you too had fun. We have many museums here too and we do try to go once each summer because my boyfriends daughter comes from England to visit.
I am glad that husband and you took a day off of work to have fun with the family.

yes i believe that what we did that day was priceless, my kids are still talking about it till now and asking for more. we might take them to a resort for the summer
Actually it was also my second time to go the museum! hahaha the last time i was there was when i was in second grade!! hahaha

Personally in a situation such as this, sometimes you owe it to yourself to take a leave of abscence like this and just take time for yourselves and enjoy the day. I think overall anymore too much is stressed on attendance and forgetting about if we have a family need we need to take care of, etc. and it is Sad.

i wonder what is wrong.
it is good that somehow you are celebrate it. my kids ask me to celebrate her birthday with a party too but i can't afford it. so i just buy a cake and wish her a happy happy birthday

i have been having same problems in mylot lately, just yesterday i cannot post a comment which slows me down and i was not able to reach my goal yesterday
anyways, it was not a big celebration but it made my kids happy, they love mcdo too! lol
