So, what was the latest time that you went home coming from work? Why did you have to leave your workplace late and was it a paid overtime? Does ths happen to you often? I remember in my previous work that our overtime is paid and it was limited to the first 5 days of each m0nth everytime, and its paid. Here, in my current work... Its n0t paid and overtime happens whenever my boss would ask us to present our reports to him. Please share your thoughts on bosses who does not seem to think of their employees welfare.

I work from home at the moment, and this means that I don't really have a specific time to have to start and finish the work that I am doing during the course of the day. This is good in a way as it means that I don't have to overtime, however it can be something that is very tempting to do if there is something that I am wanting to save up for. So I think that I have sometimes worked into the early hours of the morning just in order to earn a few extra pounds if it meant that I would be able to spend a little more at Christmas on my family or something like that.

Well, from time to time when I have worked various jobs, I have worked overtime. Most of the time it was planned in advance where a couple of times instead it was scheduled at the last minute. Where I work now, it usually is scheduled in advance to where I will work a 12 hr. shift instead of an 8. But I have worked places where if the other person did not show up you had to stay, and sometimes it would end up being almost a double which was like 16 hrs straight.

Hi. chiyosan. In 2003, the latest time that I went home after working late was about 1:00 am. We had to work overtime because we had more boxes to make. I believe that I did get paid overtime for these extra hours too. I guess the poultry was coming in too fast and we were needed to get this work done, before first shift came into work that next morning. It only happened one time that I know of. I am glad that it won't happen again, because I am no longer an employee of this job anymore.

The company that I used to work with only have a maximum of three hours a night of paid overtime on weekdays and up to 8 hours on Saturday. If you want to work beyond that period, you won't get paid.
