I just saw this documentary entitled "Gutom" here in the Philippines. this news reporter had an immersion with the really poor families and he documented his stay there...Although I know that poverty in out country is severe it still makes me sad seeing those kids and families hungry, seeing them work so hard day and night, just to receive a small amount of money..and they only eat once a day..
Although it seems to be hopeless, they still strive to live on and look forward to a better future.
Can we really solve this widespread poverty and hunger? This has been a problem for many centuries, when will it end?

I have read awfull figures about famine in the world at freerice.com, a site run by the World Food Program of the United States. IOt is estimated that 2 billion people in the world are hungry. That site (check it) has a toolbar to download (I did) and you do your online search there and can earn to donate up to 5000 grains of rice a day. There are other ways to help there too. I´m sure 5000 grains of rice is not much, but I believe that if we all did our bit, the world would be better.
Have a nice day.

Excuse me. The World Food Program belongsto the United Nzations and not to the United States. I wrote it wrong and I only noticed it now, when I comented. Whwen I have time I play at the site for rice, but usually I am content with the 5000 grains I donate by simply using the searchbar.

For as long as there are people who are selfish and want only to enrich themselves, there will always be poor people in the world. Very poor people exist because some people are keeping the world's wealth to themselves. They just want to amass wealth and live nice lives and the more we have these people and the more these selfishness continues, poverty will never be solved. The very rich should share or distribute wealth by giving workers good pay.

If we will have honest leaders who will not be interested in using the money of the government for the own personal wants then maybe hunger will be solved. but I guess that will ever happen cause these people will always be hungry for the government's money.
