Don't you think? for some people it may come naturally, but for others it takes lots of practice.. You can't really please everybody and there are some people who just won't get your jokes..or who don't have a good sense of humor. Being a comedian is a real talent, I can't even do what they do.. That's why I admire good comedians
Do you know any?

I love watching mimes... I have seen some of their shows on television when I was a kid and they are really funny and convincing.
I don't see much of them these days though..good thing some people still love to do those acts.
Thanks for your response.

Comedy is the hardest thing to do as it requires a natural talent .The great comedians of the world like Charles Chaplin, Norman Wisdom, Laurel and Hardy, Danny Kaye, Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis, Bud Abbot and Lou Costello, and in the present generation Rowan Atkinson as Mr Bean have made people laugh until tears come out from their eyes.In the Indian film Industry also known as Bollywood there are 2 actors who stand out as comedians.One is the great showman Raj Kapoor and the other is Kishore Kumar, singer, actor, director, music composer, all in one.One look at Kishore Kumar in his films brought out laughter from the audiences just as the Hollywood greats i have mentioned above.Many of these comedians have had tragic lives, yet comedy came to them easier than most people.Comedy is inborn.I have seen quite a few stand up comedians but their comedy is vulgar,mostly slapstick and in many ways not funny at all.People have not lost their sense of humour, it is just that the standard of comedy has dipped considerably, thats why most people don`t find anything funny when these so-called comedians get into their act.

You haven`t heard of these great Hollywood comedy stars? I don`t believe it.Just go to youtube and search for any of those names and you will see many videos of them.They are simply wonderful people.Danny Kaye was brand ambassador for UNICEF and has done lot of charity work.Jerry Lewis is the founder of MDA,Muscular Dystrophy Association of America having branches all over the world.Surely you must have heard of Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy?

I like Ai Ai de las Alas for a comedian. Just looking at her facial expressions when speaking , much more some the words that comes out of her mouth , would already make me laugh.
It's difficult to be a comedian and do it for a living. As you said, not all will laugh at your jokes. Even if you are crying inside, you should always be laughing outside.

There are lots of types of comedians, for me. I have hard time being a comedian at speaking. But it comes naturally when I act. Most of the times when I do a play, whether it is a school play or a class play, most of the people would laugh at my actions rather than what I was saying. It feels weird but the fact that you made people smile and laugh makes you want to perform better. I've known a lot of comedians, especially my friends, but all I can say that it just comes a natural way. Just be yourself and someday, you would make people smile and laugh!

I think Ray Romano is an excellent comedian as well as Jeff Foxworthy. They are both so funny. I used to love their stand up as well as their TV shows. Unlike most comedians they don't go overboard with insulting people in the audience just people they know like their family or friends & come on which of us doesn't do that....LOL

It truly is hard to be a comedian. It's equally difficult to create really good jokes and deliver it well. And yes, as you mentioned, a person can't really please everybody. I like watching good stand up performances and sometimes I think if I could be a good comedian too. I started my own joke book and it only has a few ideas but not really laid down materials.
There are lots of funny comedians out there. My favorite would be Dane Cook. He's really funny and energetic on stage. I also like Jay Leno's monologues. I like the way he connects his current to jokes to those he said moments ago. There was also one time when I saw on HBO "The Original Kings of Comedy". I found Steve Harvey really hilarious, can't stop laughing
Other comics I like are Pablo Francisco (he has good voice impressions of the late Don LaFontaine, the movie trailer announcer with the very familiar deep voice), Rob Paravonian (he's a musical comic), and Frank Caliendo (he's got awesome impressions, lots of them
)
Have a nice day filled wiht laughter!

If you need practice to make others laugh it will always be hard because we do not know whether people will laugh or not.But sometimes for some comedians or funny people it come naturally or spontaneously from them.I have many friends who are funny. They never practice that but they have that talent and it comes naturally for them to make people laugh.

I can't do what they do either. It just seems to come so naturally to them. And to constantly find material to work with out of your every day lives is unreal! There are so many great comedians out there but i really admire stand up comedians. It must be so nerve racking to get up there with material and hope people find it funny. It definately doesn't come naturally to me. I don't think I'm a funny person by nature it just feels too weird to me. I do like comedians that don't constantly run people into the ground. I like humour but also wit.
