Do you own a BIG truck or SUV? Why do you own it?

Do you own a BIG truck or BIG SUV? Why do you need it? Do you really need it or you like BIG trucks/SUVS?
Honestly, I know a lot of people who drive and own huge v8 SUV or TRUCKS and they don't need it at all. Their household only has 3 people, and their job doesn't require a truck either!
I understand if you need a truck but if you don't, why do people buy them? It's such a waste of money, gas, kills air pollution..
I would never own a big truck/suv unless you need it for a good reason. Trucks make it dangerous for smaller cars because if a truck hits a smaller car, obviously the truck won't be in harm but the smaller car would be... big trucks also flicks lots of rocks :(

hi,
having a car like this is very useful and important to those who have businesses so that they have an delivery car or service vehicle for there business,like my parents,they have a business and they need a drop side truck for the delivery and service.

Yes, I own an SUV. My husband and I mainly got it for his job...in the beginning. He's in construction and has a ton of tools to take along with him, so we had to get something that could carry all of them.
Before we'd gotten it, we had a little 4 cylinder pick-up truck. It was so little, in fact, that it was only a 2 seater...not very practical with a family of 4. Anyway, we'd gotten a good deal on it and it lasted us almost 4 years before we sold it. Not only did we need something that was in better shape for my husband's job, but something that all 4 of us could fit in (our other vehicle had blown up, so we were down to only one vehicle). So, when I saw this SUV listed for sale I jumped at the chance to get it. And even though it is an SUV, it's a V6, so it doesn't eat as much gas as the bigger SUV's and trucks.
Nowadays I use it for work. Fortunately my job's close by so I don't have to travel that far. And when I'm not using it for work my husband and I use our car instead whenever we have to go somewhere.

I have a mini van. Not one of those real small ones its just a little smaller then a regular size van. It can fit 7 people in it. What I like is that there is lots of room and if I need to buy a lot of stuff I can fit it all in there. If I need to buy something big I can take the seats out except for the drivers seat and get what I need. It costs a little more in gas.
