Nintendo will announce their new console on E3 conference starting June 9th. They already said it will be more powerful than PS3 and Xbox360. It will feature iphone-like screen on a controller and it'll be backward compatible with Wii/GC. Rumors say it's gonna look like modernized Super Nintendo.
I'm hoping this new console will force Sony and Microsoft to release their next generation consoles earlier than planned (2014) because damn, those systems are already 6 years old and they have nothing more to offer. Both PS3 and Xbox360 have only 512 MB RAM for gods sake. It's funny when you realize that you can buy a budget PC that is half the price of PS3 and it would be 3 times as powerful and could do more than just run games and movies. Game developers are already complaining how this current game consoles are holding their games back. This gen is dragging for too long already, hope this will speed up the process.

Hopefully you will be right and it will speed up the release of the new next gen consoles. I put off buying a PS3 because of the backwards compatibility issues, a few mates of mine have them and although they are good, it never really impressed me so I was glad with my decision. I agree with you PCs can outdo any console and always will, pity the developers are so intent on working on console stuff, but then that is the state of the industry.

I'm still gonna get PS3 just so I can play Heavy Rain and last Metal Gear Solid.

Yeah, I do agree with you on those two as they were very impressive. The Metal gear games have always been good. Maybe wait until the next gen console from Sony and hope it is backward compatible without all the BS and maybe we can get those games for next to nothing.

I just have my wii and now I have to get rid of it because it will not be updated anymore, T_T can I say PCV is the best console now. I got My x-box 2 years ago and my PS3 last year, I just hope whatever new consoles is, they can still play the older games of past consoles, and It wont be DLC dependent, since DLC is the monstrosity that ruins the gaming experience for me. If online connections will be better I might give new consoles a chance, but dammit, let me have the money first to afford them.

PC is the best for sure. But the thing with PC gaming nowadays is that the most multiplatforms are developed for consoles first and then they get ported to PC without much polishing. So PC gaming kinda depends on consoles right now. Take Crysis 2 for example. It's one of the best looking games on consoles but it's still technically behind the first Crysis which came out 3 years ago. The graphics are pretty much the same but maps physics are heavily dumbed down. You could destroy trees in Crysis, in Crysis 2 you can't. Maps are much smaller and there are barriers everywhere and invisible walls limiting your movement. AI is crap...So consoles are holding back PC games and if consoles get more powerful, PC games will be better as well. Good thing some developers are sick of hardware limitation of consoles and are developing games for PC first and port them later on consoles. Like dice with Battlefield 2. They said they're gonna make the game for the most powerful platform (PC) and then scale it back for consoles and throw out all the stuff that would be impossible to do there.

That's a very great news. But definitely sony and microsoft will do something about it. I remember that I read a news about the ps4 though there is no concrete date it will be release, but for sure these top gaming companies won't give up on competing with each other.

But as you say some developers are might have the right idea.
