Social media is a double edged sword.

Social media has really changed the world. Facebook, Twitter, My Space, and countless other social media sites. It has connected us to people that we might not have been connected with. However, it has lead to a lot of harsh feelings between people who would normally get along fairly well. There are times where people do take social media a bit too seriously, instead of the interesting diversion from the more important things in life.

So true, megamatt. That is why I simply lurk in such social media sites. I am not really an active member. I, too, have observed that among a few of my colleagues where they use these sites to give vent to their anger against someone and it goes back and forth for everyone to see. What is supposed to be private becomes an arena for the public to watch and be “amused.” Pity really. True and sad that it has changed man’s values veering towards the negative. Still hoping though that this will change, what with the clamor for ethics with what is going on. Still, let's smile for a new day.

It is really a sad state of affairs, but people in general, have really tended to gravitate towards the negative and the bad things in life. Social media has really allowed a lot of ugly things to come out in the open and often if you just sit back and watch, there are times where you can't help but shake your head or perhaps be even slightly amused at the insanity. It is really a disturbing situation. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Hi. megamatt. That is why I don't be on sites like this at all. I tried reconciling with my cousin on Facebook, and she said that she has forgiven me, but she won't accept my friend request at all. So, I don't bother with talking to her at all. It is a shame that Facebook is a site where we can connect with others. But lately, Facebook has been a site where many people are disconnecting from each other. There is anger that is shown and many people are beginning to have harsh feelings against each other. This goes the same way for Twitter too. Many celebrities are on Twitter each and everyday, spitting out garbage about other celebrities. It is just crazy! Social networking sites are nothing like they used to be. It is just a bunch of drama and ill feelings towards each other. Most of it is true and the rest of it is just a bunch of lies.

Too many bad feelings indeed. Celebrities are going to talk trash about each other regardless but Twitter has made it far too easy and accessible for them to do such a thing. And the masses just lap that type of thing up with a spoon. So really who's fault is that really? Still life has enough drama, but it seems like it has expanded. People just take everything much too seriously. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
