Stray Dog

You should really be concern. If that is a stray dog, there is a big chance it is a rabies carrier so you better do something to shoo that dog away to never return at all. Of course yo can shoo that away by just scaring him. You can throw stones near that dog to make him run away but I think after that the best yo can do is to secure your area with fence so that no dogs could just enter in.

Hi happy, welcome to mylot... If you have any remorse or fear, I suggest you use the horn technique the other mylotter said and call animal control or someone you know who can deal with dogs. Put out flyers with a "Dog found" with description on it to post around town, and make phone calls to neighbors, someone has to know who this dog belongs to. I have a son and I tell him to never go up to a strange dog, yet I will, because I love dogs and know a little about them. So what I would do is probably see if he will let me take him in and then I'd find the owner...But I think it is best you try to find someone near you who knows what they are doing to help..

Well if the animal seems shy, using a horn of some kind might scare him away. Unfortunately with strays you can never tell what kinds of disease they might have. If the animal continues to come around, I would suggest looking online to find some kinds of smells that discourage animals, sprays and such. Unfortunately those might not work either and you might be forced to call animal control to have him removed. I know it seems mean, I have a cat and a dog and I love them both to bits, but when push comes to shove, if I had to choose, I would rather the dog get taken away then to have my child hurt and I have 2 so I know what you are going through.
