I'm on my 30th week of pregnancy today. Last night, i noticed that my tummy is really big now, and so i went on the mirror and checked it...and there, i started crying when i saw a lot of stretchmarks bellow my belly button...i know i shouldn't be sad about it, but instead be proud because that is a mark that i carried a baby in my womb. I keep on telling myself that I am proud of my stretchmarks...How about you moms?

Hello jasmin, Stretch marks are common with pregnancy but you can avoid the marks by not scratching on the skin directly with your nails. Use some cloths when you feel itching on skin. You can use some cream or olive oil to apply on belly so that you can reduce the itching problem. Anyway, I don’t think any mother will be proud on the stretch marks in their body (lol). There are lots of products available in market to erase the stretch marks; it clearly tells that no mother is enjoying the stretch marks. All mothers proud on their baby but not on marks in their body.

wah.. you're both right, i'm just trying to be positive, but seeing my marks really makes me feel bad... i'm not scratching on the skin directly, i don't feel any itch anyway. But i read that after pregnancy, they will lighten... oh i hope so!

Hi Jasmin I can remember when growing up i did not have stretch marks, and when i was pregnant with my son then i start to get stretch marks. After i have my son,i use coco butter and now you can hardly see them. But any one can get a stretch mark, it does not have to pregnancy.I have a Cousin and he is very fat,an he get stretch marks too an yet he is a male. Also have a next cousin she lives in new york, and she is 19 now an she started to have stretch marks for a tender age. Stretch mark can be very itchy at times, and the more you itch the are its more lightly to appear more. But you can simple buy the coco butter milk are coco fat an use it,its works for me.

Proud probably wouldn't be a word I would use. I remember there were many wive's tales when I was pregnant and I probably tried all them. There is an oil now that says it will take them away. Some men don't seem to like women with these marks on them but I say they can go fly a kite or play with some of their toys and leave us girls alone!

According to my doctor when I asked her about the stretch marks on my belly during my pregnancy, it is normal for pregnant women having such, she explained that it might not be a caused of scratching done by our fingers but it is because our skin is very thin that's why we have stretch marks. It is only a folkloric views saying that stretch marks was caused of scratched. I am also very proud to say that I have it too aside from the scars done by my three cesarean operations.

Don't lie to yourself. That's how people become sociopaths. Don't worry some guys like stretch marks or don't care, so it's about personal preference... as long as your behind is nice and banging, you'll hear no complaints.

I am not going to lie to you and tell you I feel you should be proud of it. I think it is the curse that we women have to go through. Saying that, I was fortunate enough not to have any stretch mark on my belly. I have stretchmarks on my thighs (probably when I gained so much weight, nothing to do with pregnancy). I have heard that using Cocoa Butter Milk Lotion on your belly can reduce the stretch-marks. I have used Dr. Palmer's Cocoa Butter. I'm not sure if it works on everyone.
