Why the leather bags are so expensive?

Leather bags are really expensive and in fact some brands are even unreasonably expensive. Just as you said, it takes time to produce leather bags and the cost of production is high and these made them expensive. Imagine the long process of producing leather bag knowing for a fact that the material is actually an animal skin. However, I find it not actually wise to buy so much expensive leather bags especially if it only becomes expensive because of the brand. I would rather perhaps just buy canvas bags for my day to day use rather than invest too much money in leather bags. They are only bags after all and not gold or diamonds.
