Well it looks like the days with Intel CPUs in some or all of Apples products could be numbered right now coming just days after Intel acquired the company that makes Iphone's current Processor. Apple may be moving over their laptops and phones to the A5 or the A15 which isn't out yet but is ARMs response to Intel and AMD the A15 is going to be a Quad Core. This could be a limited thing as it may be just for the Laptops and other things as ARM processors aren't resource intensive hence why Apple has chosen them for the products that rely on battery life to be popular. The A processors power the Ipad which is one of the most if not thee most successful tablet ever launched by a Tech Company in the last 10 years. The issue is some of the programs will be Intel based and getting them to run on a non intel based computer system would mean recompiling or emulation of an intel environment. So what do you think of this move? Will you still purchase Apple Computers that don't have the Intel Base? I personally see them moving these ARMs into the realm of their MacBooks and other consumer level areas where power may not be the most needed thing but as Intel will still have the more powerful base I think they will keep Intel on their Desktops and professional lines as these can be more Resource and power intensive without the worry of causing any issues as the Apple targets with their professional line people that are wanting power over longevity of battery life.

Every computer I have ever had or currently have has an Intel processor. I have no personal experience with AMD. I have read that ADM processors run at a higher temperature than their Intel counterpart which seems to me to be a big issue for laptop users. Unless someone demonstrates to me that ADM processors at better than Intel, I will continue to buy computers with Intel processors.

ARM isn't AMD it is another company ARM is the name of the Processor line I believe it is Nvidia that makes ARM processors. The ARM processors are in the Iphone and Ipad and well Intel has been trying hard to get into the market with the Mobile area but their processors didn't meet the power requirements that Apple wanted so Apple went with ARM that is working to build a quad core CPU that will have a very low power requirement and the same speeds and abilities as the current Intel processors that are in the Macbooks and Air that Apple is producing and ARM would increase the Battery life of these products because of how little power they use. Which we know is apples favorite thing. It isn't clear whether this would be a complete removal for Intel from the Apple space or just in the Laptop and Mobile parts of Apple which many people believe Intel will be able to hold on to the Apple iMac, Mac Pro Mac Mini as these aren't battery based products so the more energy intensive Desktops will keep the Intel processors as they are also so far years ahead of where ARM will be. But Intel could have a competitor in the market of Laptops which won't be good for them. As for AMD, they wish they could get into the Apple market but I am sure intel is trying to make sure that doesn't happen. Also AMD do run slightly hotter but they also pump more power out than Intel CPUs do they also have just more speed which is why gamers like them also they are better at Overclocking which Windows users like to do. The current Intel based iMac that I am using will overclock when I am doing heavy video editing or 3d modeling. I am also an Intel fan and well hope that Apple keeps Intel in the Desktop part of their products as I am saving up for a Mac Pro just so that I can have a Mac that I can personally upgrade almost everything in it.

i think that deal will go through as per my recent discussion i saw that the apple will take over intel since they want to enhance their base for sure.so if it happens it will be a nice move by them for extending the battery life
