Feeling Overwhelmed

Not long ago, as I was saying my prayers for those in need I wondered for a moment, did I miss anyone. I had a cyst removed from just behind and below my ear on Tuesday. My equilibrium has been a bit off since. So, I have moments where I feel a little light headed and nauseated. This makes it hard to focus. What I am saying is there will be times when we are feeling a bit overwhelmed. We are human. Once again, this reminded me of an aha moment I had several years back. Have you ever been amongst a large crowd that was so noisy you could barely think? All the voices, different levels, pitches, some happy, some complaining, etc. So overwhelming that you had to leave the room and go outside? Do you realize how many times magnified that is for the Divine? The Lord and Lady hear this continuously. People praying, complaining, hungry, hurt, afraid. People celebrating, and sometimes people angry and blaming the Divine for their problems. Yet we even at times find it difficult to deal with a single person from time to time. Well, last night brought another aha moment. As I struggled to clear my thoughts enough to ensure I included everyone whom had asked for prayers I realized that the Divine know each of us, what we are going through, what our needs are. Also, in knowing what I was going through I know I can count on the Lord and Lady to reach out to those I'm praying for because they know my heart, my strengths and my weaknesses. We are not perfect. I seem to remember this little word that pops up all through magickal teachings, intent. Powerful indeed. Yes, my mind goes a million miles a minute, so I'm not done. One of the biggest issues I have is how we as humans place limits on the Divine. Many Christians are bad about doing this. God wouldn't do this or that, but if we are deserving maybe we can have a miracle. But the truth of the matter is we are just as guilty. We learn that one Goddess/God from this or that pantheon is about healing, or hunting, or teaching, etc. I truly believe that where as each Divine Being has different specialties or strengths, shame on us for making everything about that strength. I don't believe that Aphrodite never angered. I don't believe that the Morrigan doesn't know love. You were learn from your studies about the humanization of deities. We as humans need to be able to categorize things, put them into a perspective that we can relate to. In many ways I feel this diminishes our understanding, our works, our growth. So, next time you are feeling overwhelmed, instead realize how greatly we are blessed to share just a glimpse of the wonder of this vast universe and the Divine.

I agree. If we want to see the beauty in the universe, all we have to do is be present in the moment. If we are truly living in the moment, then we cannot be stressed out. Worry and anxiety comes from dwelling in the past or future. In the present moment, regardless of what's happening, we will be at peace. Namaste.
