Is cat food bad for dogs? |
| |
| I used to feed my small dog Mighty Dog but she's gotten to where she won't finish a can and I usually end up having to throw the leftovers out. They don't make dog food in really small cans so I bought a few cans of Fancy Feast cat food and she eats them because its really small portions. Is it bad for her? I heard somewhere it is, but she seems to love it and hasn't been sick or anything because of it. | | | | | |

| | I think there's something about there being too much protein in cat food. Why don't you just give the dog half the can of mighty dog and then seal the rest in a platic container or baggy? You can surely save it for another feeding or the next day. Cat food is for cats for a reason. | | | | | | |

| | Supposedly it is beacause cat food has ash in it, but dogs prefer it because cat food supposedly taste sweet to them. | | | | | | |

| | Thank you all for your comments. She's only had a couple of cans of cat food so I don't think its been really bad yet, I was just looking for stuff that she would eat...and for some reason, when I do save the leftover dog food, she won't touch it. Thats why I have to throw it out. Not sure why, but she's very picky :) | | | |

| | I would think its safe for the dogs to eat cat food as it is for cats to eat dog food. So if i had a no food one one pet or the other then i'd feed one or the other's food. Share! LOL | | | | | | |
