Can you believe that they are making a new version of Charlies Angels to air I beleive in the Fall. I just don't understand why would they do this show again. Has Hollywood lost its inmagination. They have to be repeating past ideas. I just can't believe it. Its bad enough with all of the reality shows on TV now they are just redoing a show from the past with new wannabe stars. I think its time to get rid of the TV due to the worthless shows that are on. Love to hear what your thoughts or comments are about this?

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the commercial announcing that Charlies Angels was going to be a series this fall. It seems kind of ridiculous but whatever. I think the Charlies Angels movies were entertaining although I thought Bernie Mac was not such a great choice as Bosley. Those movies were just so different from the television series. I know that they must have updated the show, i.e. the costumes, wigs, settings, etc. but I think that Charlies Angels is a guilty pleasure and they should just leave it back in the 70s and create something new. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

It may be a little different but it will be the same premise. Not a bit of interest to me. Maybe for the younger generation that didn't see the original. I rather read a good book. Have a great Sunday.

Though some remakes are okay somehow Charlies Angels I cannot see it succeeding. The audience today is much more different then it was back in the day. So in order for it to be enjoyed by those today it means they have to really change it and all a ton of true violence to it. Therefore the many of us who saw back in the day will perhaps not enjoy it. I am with you that I can't figure out why, remake this one.

You are so right its a different time and the audience is totally different from the 70's. Let me be the first to predict it will not last. Have a great day!

I have no plans of watching this show. I'm one of the watchers of the original and have no interest in seeing the show done again. Our television is used to watch movies and there are plenty of great choices. Also I use the screen to play Wii and get exercise when the weather isn't suitable for walking.

I too love to watch movies over the boob tube. The Wii is a great thing to use for exercise. My daughter has one and it gives you a great workout. I really have to see about buying one for myself. It will be alot better way of using my time then watching TV. Have a wonderful day!

I think you hit the reason, Hollywood is running out of ideas, so they think by making remakes, they can still entertain. I don't watch TV much, so it was only a few weeks ago that I found out they made a remake of Hawaii Five-O and the one who started it said it wasn't that great..

Well stine, I would have mentioned your name, but that is against the guidelines, so yes it was you who brought it to my attention that they made a remake of this show... I know a family who has gone to Hawaii a few times and I always thought it would be nice to visit sometime, but my eyes on set to go to another country if I could...

I think it has lost its imagination lelin. There have been remakes of remakes of remakes going on the last few years. The funny thing is that most of the very young generation have no idea they are remakes. That is how they are getting people. They are just redoing what was popular and seeing if it will fly now.

Hiya lelin, Could be that they have taken it on a different angle this time and not repeating the same style as before. I wanted to watch "Hawaii Five O" but have not seen it yet it was supposed to be on soon it seems different to the last time. "Charlies Angels" could be good to watch this time round you never know. I never used to watch the other Series much but I did have really long working hours so I was always too tired to watch much Television.

Well, your television will be good to watch the movies you choose to rent on. We got rid of cable a long time ago. We have a digital converter box and that does not pick up much. I like to get the news and weather. Now some of the remakes have been good. I like the new Hawaii5 0. I guess that is part of why they are coming up with so many remakes. Some of them do succeed.

Yes that is probably what I should do but I still like Oprahs OWN NETWORK so for that I will keep it. However, I will not be watching Charlies Angels. They cancel Brothers and Sisters which was a well written great show in my opinion. Also something different then the regular cops and hospital shows. So they take off Broters and Sisters to put a remake of charlies angels. Makes not a bit of sense. Thanks for your reply and have a great day.

i remember the orignial charlie angels back in the 70s. it was pretty good. this new show isn't one i am going to watch. it would be good for those who never saw the orignial show, however, as it is new to them. the same thing with redoing a song someone sang. it just isn't the same and i don't like it as much.

I don't see the point in the creation of re-makes when the old series or movie could of been returned and not just Charlies Angels. I understand the idea of wanting to introduce something to a new generation but why not show it the way it was, the way which made it great to the previous generation(s)? I can remember watching some of the Marvel cartoons during the 90th, and Marvel later created a new series called Superhero Squad to introduce their characters to a new generation. Instead of the characters keeping what made them great, they became parodies of themselves.

I don't see the point of remakes. All of the movie remakes over the past few years have been utter failures. Is this the new plan, to remake television series ? I can hardly wait

I've seen old Hawaii Five-O when I was a kid. When the new version came out last fall, I try to watch couple episodes of it. It has become a successful one, but I lost interest after watching a couple. I think there was an attempt to remake Bionic Woman and that was unsuccessful. Also a somewhat successful remake of V with a different twist has not really made me a committed viewer. There are some that would stay on; some that would just get cut earlier or later. As far as Charlie's Angels remake; we'll see. I'm not that enthusiastic either. Every year, there will be new series. Some get cut early; some stay a little bit more then get ditched; some manage to stay one and become successful. That remake would need to compete for attention. So many shows; so many people can watch.

Really? I am not sure what to feel, excited or scared. I hope they pick the right people to remake it. Maybe they are doing this show again becasue it was pretty famous awhile back, and the movies too were good.

Well from what I can see it is three unknown actresses and who is playing Charlie I have no idea. I will predict though it will be a flop. The movies were good but a weekly show of this forget it.

Well, it's nice to see new actresses- I hope they act well so they won't ruin the show.. I'm quite looking forward to this. But I hope it won't last so long since it might get boring.

They are out of ideas. Pure and simple. The shows that tend to be a new idea do not last long, however the remakes of law and order last 10 seasons. Charlie's angels was popular way back when and they feel that it can be popular again. I think that it is going to fail, just like the new Knight Rider did.

They are making remakes of many of the 70's shows cause they were always hits and well loved and they are trying to recapture that these days cause shows aren't that great anymore. They don't last long like they used to and HOllywood can't compete these days. If they'd lower that stars salaries they might have a chance...good grief millions per episode? All they stars have to do is a good job for a few years and then they can be set for life. Back in the 70's they had to actually work to make the show good. Now a days all the women have to do is dress revealingly and scream and all the men have to do is talk filth. But, they won't make them like they did in the 70's, no they will just take the theme of the show and trash it all up and then destroy the legacy of the show while the show lasts only a year or so. Look what they did when they did that "Duke's of Hazzard: The Beginning. THey trashed the Duke boys, made the blonde one always sludging the brunette one and made the brunette one act like an idiot and sexed up Daisy to a bimbo. Often you just can't change perfection. Just like the recent remake of True Grit. If you saw the one with John Wayne, you know what a great movie it was, but the remake had to much violence and hate in it. I have been over the past years, watching sales on DVD's and box sets of dramas, and sitcoms from the 60's, 70's and a few from the 80's as that is when TV was good. Laughter or serious, they hit home so well back then. Now they are about nothing but violence, s8x and who's sleeping with who.
