When told by a parent to do some chore a child refuse and tell the parent: has to do something first, I am not feeling well, etc. and all said is false. What could be the reason that the child lie to the parent to get away from tasks? If it's been going on for too long that it has become a habit to lie just to avoid chores, what will change the child's behavior?

sounds a little true and common to me. I myself was even guilty of this. I guess the key is always to let them know they have to do it, if not at the time, still later on they will still NEED to finish what is asked of them. if we let them get away with it, then for sure, we would always get the stop sign shown to us that they are busy, they can't they are tired, they are sleepy, or about to sleep.
discipline, i guess would be the key.
