India -- Bangalore - silicon city of India - bars are closed for over one month and bar girls threaten suicide. I feel it is better to allow bars so that many will get employment. Video report clipping: http://indiatoday.intoday.in/site/video/bangalore-bar-girls-threaten-mass-suicide-against-ban/1/143845.html If bars are opened many families are ruined. It is difficult to walk on this life road.

Thanks for sharing, the basic needs are food, cloth and shelter, one can earn money in various ways, and dancing in bars is one, i feel pity on them. God bless you, have a nice day ahead. Professor ‘@Bhuwan@’. .

You have rightly understood that this one of the ways for earning a living for the poor girls. If alternative work is given to them they may be able to manage better.

I think this is an unfortunate situation. No offense, but women should be inspired to do more for their lives then be bar girls. All I can see is women dancing around poles and men in my head. In stead of protesting, they should be looking to improve their situations. This is their opprotunity to shine and become something better. Best Wishes!

hello ravi, If they(authorities/government) decide to close the bar,at least they should also consider giving those bar girls new jobs. They're human, and they need to work for their family also and losing their job means losing the life. have a good day

jaiho--that is right. that would have been nice. I think it must be some political motive behind it.

You feel that they indulge in nefarious activities. I do not know. but alternate employment or at least considerable aid should be given.

Can't those bar girls find other jobs? They don't have to do that. They should think of other means to earn a living.

It is easily told but difficult to make it. For example I know only teaching. I cannot take up selling or other job. But if the person is industrious he can do it. thanks for the comments.

I personally hate dance bars. I had earlier embraced dance bars on at least a dozen occasions. I feel that they should not be allowed to operate at all, as they ruin several lives. However from a neutral perspective, I feel that any person should be allowed to run or operate any business or do any job. Finally these dance bars do not pull you inside. So if a person wants to get ruined, it is his personal choice. So let these bars operate. An individual needs to be careful as to whether he wants to visit them or not.
