I need a computer that is known as a reliable computer for music producing I was considering the macbook pro but it is really expensive. Are there any other alternatives if not I'll just raise the money and get one.

I would say if your looking into reasonable pricing and that is all you wish to do with you computer A Dell XPS or a Lenovo should be alright. Macbook is your best option though well worth the investment if you can afford it at all.

Thanks I have read somewhere that a Compaq/HP is the worst for music production and of course I purchased this computer before reading up on it. I don't really want to sell this one but I need to buy the Macbook.

I personally think Compaq/HP or the worst in general, I myself am a Toshiba guy. I suggest to help yourself further make sure you check the programs you are gonan be running for the spec and make sure your laptop whichever you buy, will at least meet the minimum but I always try going for max compatibility, there is a lot less lag then.

It is bias because I have had every single HP or Compaq I have owned go to crap on me, however that is why I said I personally say it. Just like I will say Toshiba is the best to me because they have never let me down at all and never quit on me. But on the music side of it that is why I suggested in the second post I did that he check his specs of his programs that he uses and that would be the best info for him. Yes they are using MAC and I fully support MAC. As far as HP even if they are using them in offices that is because it is the cheapest bulk deal they can get not because it is the best. and most offices use programs that are roughly 5 years behind that I have worked in.
