quite a bit. He was on vacation with his grandparents at a water park. He is blond and fair skinned and takes medicine for epilepsy so he burns easy. His grandparents said that they had sunscreen on him, but apparently it didn't work. I do the same thing. I will look fine when I am out in the sun, but a couple of hours after I go inside my skin turns red. I put lotion on him, but I could tell by the way he was walking that he is sore.

when a person came from the vacation and the place is near in the beach or even in river, most of the time they could have sun burn because they surely always go to the river or to the beach to have some swimming, the sunburn is not that hurt but it will be reddish.

It is always advised to apply sunscreen every two hours. Poor boy. Just apply cool yoghurt on his skin or some aloe cream. It really helps and be careful with some sunscreens that claims to have enough protection because I have read that some don't. And try on a higher SPF. Most importantly, too much sun should be avoided especially at hours where it does the most harm to the skin.

I got sunburned last week, because I made sure everyone else had sunscreen of course. I imagine you know many remedies for sunburn, like vinegar, or aloe vera, or oatmeal or milk in a cool bath. It seems sometimes sunscreen does not work as well as it should.

Awwh poor guy and yes it has to be painful, especially when he lays down to sleep. I hope he starts getting relief as I too get sunburned and it is quite painful and uncomfortable.
Did he have a good time with the grandparents? He probably did and did not notice the sunburning until after having such a great time. I am glad he is back home, as I recall how empty your home was without him.

If you have a sunburn:
* Take a cool bath or shower. You can also apply a clean towel dampened with cool water.
* Apply an aloe vera or moisturizing lotion several times a day.
* Leave blisters intact to speed healing and avoid infection. If they burst on their own, apply an antibacterial ointment on the open areas.
* If needed, take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Aleve) or acetaminophen (Tylenol, others). Use caution when giving aspirin to children or teenagers. Though aspirin is approved for use in children older than age 2, children and teenagers recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms should never take aspirin. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns.
Don't use petroleum jelly, butter or other home remedies on your sunburn. They can prevent or delay healing.
If your sunburn begins to blister or if you experience immediate complications, such as rash, itching or fever, see your doctor.

That's too bad. I'm sure he really enjoyed the water park and now he's paying for it. I burn really easy too. I wish they would come out with a sunscreen that actually works on fair skinned people. I've put on protection 75 and still burned. I burnt my feet so bad one time my toes looked like swollen shrimp. It was so painful. The medication I take also aids in the burning process. I wish I knew some great burn remedies, but I don't. Best Wishes!
