If in college do you avail yourself of the writing center...

When I went to a physical campus I would use the writing center occasionally, but now that I am in an online college I do not use the writing center. I read the print above it that says it may take several days for my papers to come back to me and to tell you the truth, that makes me hesitant to use it because I fear that my papers may not be back to me so I can revise them before they are due.

I have never used the writing center, on campus or online. However, in one of my degrees in the masters program at Liberty University Online, use of the writing center was required for one class. You are right, the papers did not get back in time to make necessary revisions. I still passed the class with a B, but I think I would have gotten an A if the papers had come back timely enough for me to make necessary revisions.

linda:;I do not follow what is meant by writing center. Can u please explain how it functions and how it is related to college, studies, online studies.

I sometimes feel reluctant to use the writing center because of the same reason. But the writing center is a service that the university is providing for the students free of charge so I try to take advantage of it. I've had a writing tutor for two quarters and they were great but it would also greatly benefit just to read and review the paper by oneself if the writing service is not available.

Yeah if the fear of a delay is probable I too would be reluctant to use the writing center too. So I think you are doing the right thing. It has to be a bit difficult to study online as you do not have the one on one so I am sure you are pretty disciplined in that area.

I never used the writing center at all. I think it is very smart of you not to send your papers there. If you didn't get them back on time that could spell disaster for you. I remember those late nights of trying to get something done at the last minute. They were stressful and not a whole lot of fun. Best Wishes!
