How long will this one last? The washing machine that is?

Trying again to post this discussion as something went wrong the first time. We picked up another washing machine last weekend, a front load for $70. I can't believe how cheap it was, but it's working so far. The guys were typical males when we brought it home. Instead of taking it downstairs and hooking it up, they hooked it up to the garden hose outside. They panicked when the washer stopped spinning, they obviously know nothing about front load machines, and the fact that they change directions while washing. They freaked me out, so I had called the seller, only to have to call back and say that everything was ok. We've gone through 2 washing machines already, they both lasted less than a year in total, and that's disappointing. So now, hopefully this one will last longer than the other 2, it's only 3 years old from what the seller said. I'm just glad to have something that works, we're not wasting water anymore or electricity, and that really helps around here since the bills have been high due to that.

My washing machine is now ten years old! I guess it is the brand that I had chosen known for its durability not only in washers but also in the other appliance that they manufacture. Brands or not, I think it is in the usage too of the person that are using.

The second one we had was a Maytag, built to last a long time and it did, just not here.

My washing machine is I think more than just a year since I bought and so far so good. It has been working so well and has not given me any problem. The other one which it replaced lasted for more than 6 years and only the dryer broke. We can't do without a dryer so we had to buy new one. Well this one is great. Bigger and sturdier. And it looks like it will last up to 10 years.

I hope this one does last longer. Sometimes people sell things cheap because they need to get rid of it and others hope that it is possible to pass their problems off on some unsuspecting person. Hopefully in your situation it was the former.

I have had this tvs top load, washing machine for years and even those who come to get some minor repairs done are amazed at how it could last that long - almost 20 years!! I am amazed too!. It also looks as good as new. Ofcourse it has a cover that is zipped back religiously.

My washer was 8 years old and only changed it because I got a deal for a new set for both the washer and dryer. It is can vary depending on the types and how much usage one does use them for. Though I think today they do not last as long as they use to because the parts seem to be sort of plastic and not like the durable ones from before. Glad to hear you have a new one, well new to you and hope it does last a long time. You never know it might last longer then you anticipate it too.

i didn't know that washing machine can broke, coz washing machine in my home is used to be my mother's washing machine and it still work till today. One time the rotating belt of that machine fell off, but it's easy to fix, other than that i never experience a broken washing machine.

Well you actually posted this one 3 months ago so I hope that things are still going well with this washing machine. We took the plunge when we moved in here just over 2 yrs. ago and bought a New washer and dryer, and expensive ones to boot. They have sure helped out and I am hoping that they do last at least the 10 yrs. they give a Warranty on so we will be set til at least then. The ones the other owner had left behind did not want to work at all.

Next time the guys do something as crazy as hooking up a washing machine on the front lawn, get pictures, and videos!!! :) What did the neighbours say? Reminds me of one year when we had a garage sale, and Mom had a carpet she wanted to sell. She layed it out in the drive way, and vaccuumed it. haha The neighbours thought that was pretty funny.
