hello fellow mylotters,
almost everyday, my brother brought a bottle of coca-cola everytime they will gonna have their meal during lunch and dinner. according to him, the coca-cola adds up an appetite for them to eat. aside from that, their meal would not be complete without having a coca-cola. for this reason, they have added the cost of coca-cola to their weekly food budget. as this is somehow a part of their everyday meal.
i have just thought, perhaps, due to a humid weather now a days, that is why my brother wants a more refreshing beverages everytime they have had their meal.

I used to crave cokes and figured I was just addicted to them. I decided to break the habit because they really are not good for anyone whether one drinks regular or diet cokes. I started drinking water. Just plain water. I especially noticed how refreshing it was after being really really thisty and drinking it. I decided it is partially an emotional addiction. We remember it satisfied a need and so we come to like it.

I am a coca cola lover as well as my family. In most household celebrations, there is always coca cola. My father used to work in coca cola and eventually we grow up with coca cola in our house. But now that I am getting old, I try to control taking so much softrdrink since they are not really good for health.

Hi, aira. I used to be like your brother wherein hardly a meal passes that I don't pair it with a Coca Cola. But you know what, due to my passion in drinking softdrinks, I got a peptic ulcer. I am not saying this to scare your brother but perhaps it would help him to refrain from drinking because too much softdrinks could also affect his kidney.
I understand how softdrinks or any powdered juices can add an appetite to a meal but they are also harmful if they are taken too much.
Just a friendly reminder my friend.

I LOVE Coca Cola. It is part of my budget, but I only buy it on sale. I have drank it for years. I am well aware that it is not good for me, but I drink it in moderation. Some people drink coffee in the morning to get their caffeine fix, but I drink a can of Coke to get my caffeine. I don't usually drink it after a certain time in the afternoon, otherwise I am an insomniac. I do drink other things too including water, so it balances out.

I have a friend who is like that. He feels that a meal is not complete and he does not feel any satisfaction if he does not have a small bottle of this soft drink at the end of all his meals.
I have another friend who is unlike him. This fellow had a stint as a provincial branch manager of another world-girdling popular soft drink company. After he resigned from the company, he never drank any soft drink anymore of whatever brand since then and ever. He says that the sugar mix is so high in all soft drinks that if you develop a habit for it, you will also develop diabetes.
I believe my second friend about the sugar in soft drinks but I have maintained my friendship with both.
My favorite is plain water from the tap. Davao City's water is the second cleanest in the world and the sweetest tasting in the whole of the Philippines. I even drink of it no less than 16 glasses within the time frame of any ordinary day. I drink more when I'm engaged in physical exertions.

My husband likes a drink of coke now and then, but he doesn't need to have it with every meal. I have never liked coke, and actually prefer cold water. In this hot and humid weather, I'd much rather drink cold water, than coke. Water is really the ony thing that will quench my thirst.

lol. My best bet is that your brother is an avid fan of Eat Bulaga's "Juan for all, all for Juan" portion, where Coca-cola is their biggest endorser. Since what you type there is there current slogan, "Araw arawin ang saya" and "Mas masarap ang kainin pag may kasamang Coca-Cola". So your brother was lured by the said show to drink the product everyday. Or yet, they are just addicted to caffeine since Coca cola contains caffeine and sugar. Drinking soda is nice but be aware that too much of it might lead your brother on some urinary problem or diabetes in the future. Since sodas contain acid and most of it will deposit on his kidneys and it will slowly form kidney stones and since it contains a lot of sugar your brother may develop diabetes on it.

Oh, I am not happy to hear that, not because I am against Coca cola but your brother and his friends does not know that he is just adding up everyday harm to his kidneys. It is never healthy to consider soft drinks and you may ask every doctor here.
If your brother just saves money for dialysis, just do so and do the same routine by drinking softdrinks everyday, but I already warned you about this. It is healthy to consider water (not cold) after a meal, he saves money and yet he will still be healthy.

I have read write ups about drinking soft drinks is not good to our health. And besides you will gain more weights if you drink a lot of it. I think there is no harm in drinking soft drinks, but there should be some moderation. And beside they can save money if they do that.

I can't eat a meal with a pepsi. I definitely know the feeling. Cherry pepsi is my favorite.

that's really true especially here in the Philippines where the weather is hot. I used to do that many years back but now I am trying to take it in moderation because it's not what our body wants, it is acidic and has some artificial sweeteners which is not good for the body. I usually just take a drink of coke after having a fatty, oily meal.

Hmmmmm... There are really people who thinks their meal will not be complete without a cola. I stay away from cola. I find it hard to sleep at night when I drink after lunch especially after dinner. And a friend of mine told me that a glass of cola is equivalent to 36 tablespoons of sugar. That's a lot of sugar. We'll might get diabetes for ourselves.
