I have not seen Green Lantern, the movie. I surmised it was one of the films that I could watch comfortably at home, like Hulk. But it is the age of comic heroes coming alive in the silver screen. And avid fans even watch premiere shows in costumes.
My daughter's friend has Green Lantern as her favorite comic super hero. And she waited a long while for the Green Lantern. Excitedly, she invited her brothers to come and watch Green Lantern with her. They did! When the movie finished and the lights turned on, her brothers saw her crying!
She felt so sad for her Green Lantern.
Anyone saw the movie?

For me I am not into the movie even if I like the Marvel's comics. Perhaps because I am not an avid fan of Green Lantern. As a normal viewer Green Lantern is out of my A list movie. It can't give the full impact like other movies.(^^)

I see. I am buying a disc though, just to complete the stories of all the comic heroes.

I am sure you are right, or else my daughter's friend would not have cried.

I have not sen the movie. I wait until it is hits DVD. I cry during movies and after movies! mainly if I am lonely or home sick for my family! I am not a big fan of comic or cartoon charecters coming to life in films! I hated "the Flintstones" for example!

Hmmm, I was amused by Fred and the gang. I thought it cool actually living in the Rock Age with all the modern day comfort.
blue, these movies are just for entertainment. We all need a little reprieve from the hassles of daily life, don't you think. But I only go for the exciting flicks. I wouldn't queue for a basketball game. To each his own, I guess.

I have not seen the movie and really had no intention of seeing it. I don't really like the comic book movies. When I read about your daughter's friend's reaction, I was suprised. I didn't think there would be anything sad about it. I must have been wrong.

She was expecting that Green Lantern could be as exciting as Iron Man and the Hulk, and she believed that they could have made Green Lantern more magnificent. Now her Green Lantern would remain a minor super hero.

I cried as well in pure disappointment for what they've done to green lantern. The movie was really bad especially if you are a green lantern fan. Its like watching the first Hulk movie but that film was even better than Green Lantern. I hope the future release of green lantern has a much better plot, they could have made it that sinistro was already the villain, that would have been much better.

I have not watched the movie because i'm not a fan of it. I wonder what makes it so appealing to others when i didn't even heard about it when i'm a kid. IN my mind back then till now, there's only X-men, spiderman and superman as well as batman. There's nothing called Green lantern at all. I won't waste my money on watching something that don't exist in my mind.

I didn't like Green Lantern a bit, everything about the film is quiet boring.
The story wasn't of any good, the graphics were good but everything else just sucked ...

I'm curious as to what your daughter's friend thought of the film. I for one liked it, though felt it could have been better in terms of the story, pacing, and characters. And I might've expected a tad too much from the climax...
