yes..surprise me as well.. was chewing me popcorn as usual and thinking this must be same like all those other pre-quel movie previously made.. but no..
let me say that again NO!!!! (if u watched this movie ,u get the joke with the No' word)
This movie is superb..very Uplifting feel to the actions.emotions and drama ..all sewn together brilliantly,,and also superb acting from the apes..(ohh no..forgotten that those are cg's actually).. This movie tackled the emotional side of the ape rise to freedom from being a mere animal to err..Free. and it compliments the original Planet of the ape *not the one with Mark Wahlberg)
People who enjoyed the charleston heston classic will feel this one..Great movie.
the last 40mins is fantastic.! let me say it again- Brilliant!
9/10
and the ape Caeser- look astonishingly like Roddy Mcdowall..

This is a brilliant movie but I thought that James Franco wasn't emotional enough. He does seem quite indifferent towards Caesar when he should be more concerned like when Caesar was incarcerated. Franco doesn't seem to portray the caring pet owner who's about to lose his beloved pet. Instead he's so calm. He just isn't able to show any emotions on his face. I think Franco's co-star, John Lithgow who plays his father was much more convincing.

I guess so. He was just being the character but most of the time he seems to appear clueless as to how to react to a given situation and I can see the confusion on his face. He reminds me of another actor who's face doesn't show any emotions - Keanu Reeves.

I just watched this movie about a few weeks ago. Honestly, I'm not interested with the previous 'Planet of the Apes' movies. But this one is nice. I really enjoyed it and it is heart warming. I can rate this eight out of ten.

Thank you for sharing this, I had difficulty in deciding what I should do for the weekends until I read this. I will clear all my schedules for the weekend and my family and I will watch the movie. I was intrigued when I saw the trailer but of course since its one of those pre-quel movies, I had my doubts but now, I am going to watch it!
