The chimney is leaking, but I know what the problem is.

Thankfully, I know what the problem is and how to fix it.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed water coming into the fire place when we had a heavy rain storm.
This morning when it poured again(another topic), the rain started coming in again.
I sent a message to my landlord telling him we had a problem.
When he sent a message back to me, he asked how I knew it was a problem with the trees. I originally thought the trees were the problem, otherwise it was a structural issue.
I went outside to look at the chimney and saw the mortar on the wall.
It was crumbling and falling out of the wall. It wasn't the trees at all.
So, as I took the crumbling mortar out of the wall, I figured out how deep the mortar had gone in and realized that it was something we could handle on our own.
Only have to put more mortar into the hole in the wall and patch it all up. But I have to wait until it's dry and I have time to do it.
This shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to get this job done.

Oh gosh am so sorry to hear of yet another repair job there and with so much for you all these days it has to be yet more disappointing. I hope the Landlord repaired it by now, though it sounds like a big job to me.

It's something we can do on our own, and will get to it when I get my van fixed.
My landlord is getting married at the end of the month and is freaking out about everything that's going wrong.

It's good that you know how to fix the problem. I don't think I would have been able to figure that out. I know that you are able to do many things and that is good. You should always be able to survive money-wise since you can do so many different things. I hope you are able to get the problem fixed soon. Have a great week!!!

I think your landlord is fortunate that you can take care of so many things yourself and you can figure out the problems.
